Hi, I wanted to clear things up so Im making this comment. Yes I am blasian. I am half korean and half black, but because i'm half black that doesnt mean i'm not black?? idky you would even comment that..but sorry if I offended anyone w the title, I wanted to show all the other black people how it is since there are so many people who wants to come to korea or wants to study abroad and also wants to go to a korean school. I also didn't know this would blow up but I am greatful, tysm! I will continue to post more:))

Maybe they are offended because you are not black and it's kinder like you used the title for views and maybe some are offended because you didn't bless your Korean version, people wanted araw reaction of how areal black child would be treated, hopefully you understand We want areal reaction on achild will natural Afro and we see how her day would be, but your videos are great too

Some people don’t know that. We can clearly see that she’s fluent, but we don’t know about her race (she could be a military kid, left because her parents got a job overseas, or she is mixed. People don’t know that unless she answers?)…

@@chantelleloveday it may be common sense to some, but there are many times where you can be miss identified. There have been times where some mistake others has mixed, a whole race, or even another (just because she has slim eyes (her eyes really aren’t that slim), long hair (not that it matters), and is lighter toned, doesn’t mean people won’t mistake her as just a light skinned black person). People just have to learn and wait for confirmation

All these people asking about racism in the comments tho. If there's racism in a heterogeneous and diverse society like the USA, why would you be asking if she experienced racism in a country as homogeneous and non-diverse as Korea? It goes without saying.

You put facts into words and I'm here for it! I honestly don't understand why people don't think before commenting, as in this case, it would make sense that racism exists in a homogenous country. It exists here in the USA, I imagine it's no different in SK, if not, worse. :/

So stop asking her all these questions regarding if she’s from this or that or did she just learn this and that. Y’all need to educate yourself more PLEASE look up Han Hyun-Min or something to see another Blasian in mainstream media or something and stop being dense. I don’t see y people r mad about the title. In Korea the first thing they will notice is her skin tone, they will see her as a black person first. The video still gets the point across about being a black person in a Korean school. But I think no matter how she decided to word the title people would still find something to complain about. Even tho she is mixed she’s still black. U can see in the thumbnail she is lighter skinned so if she isn’t dark enough for u to care about her experience then don’t click on the video.

So we should just throw her whole Korean side away? The title should be “as a biracial student” literally a mixed race person can claim being black and gain different things out of it (such as scholarships) taking away from black students with both black parents, it’s not about her being half black it’s the fact that it’s still pushing the one drop bs. Accept that you’re 2 races. The black community doesn’t have to welcome everyone..
@kiyakiya4075
@kiyakiya4075 2 жыл бұрын
@@aaakooon She’s not throwing anything away. I feel bad for mixed people sometimes it’s like if they only mention one ethnicities then automatically people see it as they don’t claim the other. I can agree with what u said about the title but I also don’t see the harm in the title she has now. What is exactly is she gaining from the this? What is she taking from us by having the title she has? She is simply giving her experience. It’s definitely not preventing full black students who r going to school in Korea from making the same type video. R u aware that blasian people can face the same racism and discrimination as full black people? Being black isn’t some exclusive club where u pick and choose who is accepted and who isn’t. Wether u like it or not she IS apart of the black community just like she is apart of the Asian Community. And what do u mean the black community doesn’t have to accept anyone? It’s sad to see such a toxic way of thinking coming from my community. We can’t pick and choose. U wanna get mad when a mixed person doesn’t acknowledge their black side but on the other hand when they do you say “you’re not black enough”. Uselessly dividing people, instead of finding the root of the issue and fixing the way we have been conditioned to think about one another. Ofc I do feel like some mixed people take advantage of the black community when it’s convenient but that’s a whole other topic that is useless for this conversation because that doesn’t seem like what she is doing at all. It seems to me she wanted to use her black experience in Korea to help show people who might be curious. Not knowing it would be a problem that she isn’t full black. Sure having blasian in title would have been preferred but bashing her for not having that is not acceptable.

@@mariar5981 In Ireland, you don't stay in the one room all day. Teachers, if they're permanent and have been teaching in the school for a while, will have as assigned classroom that's "theirs" and so if you have a class with them you have to go to their room. When I was living in India, though, it was one room all day. P.S., my name is also Maria. Hi!

@rachelcookie321
@rachelcookie321 2 жыл бұрын
I think it’s hard to study abroad in Korea during high school. There aren’t many exchange companies that go to Korea and not many schools accept exchange students. I think it’s mostly because high school is very hard in South Korea. Kids will be studying at school until 8pm and will only sleep 4 hours a night. Exchange companies don’t want kids to go through this as it wouldn’t really be a fun exchange trip if you spend the whole time studying instead of exploring the country and learning the culture. Schools also don’t want to accept foreign students because they don’t want their students to be distracted from their work by a foreigner.

I have been to many places in Korea. Like Pusan City, Pyontaek , as far north as the DMZ and of course the big city of Seoul just to name the major places I visited. I enjoyed my tour of duties there in Korea on both times. Of course I liked and subscribed to your channel. Looking forward for more videos. Plus I shared this one too.
