Hi, I wanted to clear things up so Im making this comment. Yes I am blasian. I am half korean and half black, but because i'm half black that doesnt mean i'm not black?? idky you would even comment that..but sorry if I offended anyone w the title, I wanted to show all the other black people how it is since there are so many people who wants to come to korea or wants to study abroad and also wants to go to a korean school. I also didn't know this would blow up but I am greatful, tysm! I will continue to post more:))

I don’t see y people r mad about the title. In Korea the first thing they will notice is her skin tone, they will see her as a black person first. The video still gets the point across about being a black person in a Korean school. But I think no matter how she decided to word the title people would still find something to complain about. Even tho she is mixed she’s still black. U can see in the thumbnail she is lighter skinned so if she isn’t dark enough for u to care about her experience then don’t click on the video.

So we should just throw her whole Korean side away? The title should be “as a biracial student” literally a mixed race person can claim being black and gain different things out of it (such as scholarships) taking away from black students with both black parents, it’s not about her being half black it’s the fact that it’s still pushing the one drop bs. Accept that you’re 2 races. The black community doesn’t have to welcome everyone..
@kiyakiya40752 жыл бұрын
@@aaakooon She’s not throwing anything away. I feel bad for mixed people sometimes it’s like if they only mention one ethnicities then automatically people see it as they don’t claim the other. I can agree with what u said about the title but I also don’t see the harm in the title she has now. What is exactly is she gaining from the this? What is she taking from us by having the title she has? She is simply giving her experience. It’s definitely not preventing full black students who r going to school in Korea from making the same type video. R u aware that blasian people can face the same racism and discrimination as full black people? Being black isn’t some exclusive club where u pick and choose who is accepted and who isn’t. Wether u like it or not she IS apart of the black community just like she is apart of the Asian Community. And what do u mean the black community doesn’t have to accept anyone? It’s sad to see such a toxic way of thinking coming from my community. We can’t pick and choose. U wanna get mad when a mixed person doesn’t acknowledge their black side but on the other hand when they do you say “you’re not black enough”. Uselessly dividing people, instead of finding the root of the issue and fixing the way we have been conditioned to think about one another. Ofc I do feel like some mixed people take advantage of the black community when it’s convenient but that’s a whole other topic that is useless for this conversation because that doesn’t seem like what she is doing at all. It seems to me she wanted to use her black experience in Korea to help show people who might be curious. Not knowing it would be a problem that she isn’t full black. Sure having blasian in title would have been preferred but bashing her for not having that is not acceptable.

@rachelcookie3212 жыл бұрын
I think it’s hard to study abroad in Korea during high school. There aren’t many exchange companies that go to Korea and not many schools accept exchange students. I think it’s mostly because high school is very hard in South Korea. Kids will be studying at school until 8pm and will only sleep 4 hours a night. Exchange companies don’t want kids to go through this as it wouldn’t really be a fun exchange trip if you spend the whole time studying instead of exploring the country and learning the culture. Schools also don’t want to accept foreign students because they don’t want their students to be distracted from their work by a foreigner.

well South Korea is very well known for being racist towards black ppl (and other dark poc). They even have an n word in their language. No, not everyone is like that but ppl can say “thank god they aren’t racist to her”
@yunojia3 жыл бұрын
@@izudior America is probably more racist. Korea isn’t a melting pot type of country so people may like… stand out but most koreans aren’t racist. The older generation probably, but most kids in this generation arent! :)
@hellokittybishtv31503 жыл бұрын
@@yunojia Of course America is more racist. There are white people, and this is where slavery happens... No one assumes all Koreans are racist but with racist backgrounds, they have their n-word in their language. People do ask questions if she experiences racism.

@@hellokittybishtv3150 So you're saying America is more racist because it has white people, and slavery is there. Good job dude you summed up racism and stereotyping.
@hellokittybishtv31503 жыл бұрын
@@kaddindefiant Uh? I mean this is the country that was responsible for slavery, the native American genocide, banning Chinese people for not coming here for a decade? Maybe learn how to read cause I didn't stereotype no one.., Nor did I sum up racism...

School in Korea isn’t anything like I thought it would be.🤭 it’s really laid back and the teachers seem to hardly be around. I’m hooked on your vlog. You and your sister are so cute☺️She seem like the mischievous one.😬

I’m jealous that she has a really nice group friends while me at school always having a fight between the boys and girls. Plus to know that the students can sleep during classes is just “wow” cuz my country is Cambodia and if any one of the student sleep during classes the teachers will call our parents and make a really big fuss with it and remove points from our up comings exams 😬 (Sorry for the broken English it’s not my native or first language)

So I'm from Zimbabwe and I saw you mentioning the Kalimba and it looked so familiar, so I googled it. And it is a mbira. I didn't know that it was used outside of Zim/Southern Africa and had multiple names. It is such a traditional instrument that I didn't think people played it outside of Africa.That's so cool. This made me smile so hard, thank you for taking interest in something of my culture ❤❤

Congratulations on your first video. So proud and happy that you are educating us. My background back in the day I was stationed at Osan Air Base (1987 to 1988) and Kunsan Air Base (1990 to 1991). I have been to many places in Korea. Like Pusan City, Pyontaek , as far north as the DMZ and of course the big city of Seoul just to name the major places I visited. I enjoyed my tour of duties there in Korea on both times. Of course I liked and subscribed to your channel. Looking forward for more videos. Plus I shared this one too. From US American Air Force Security Police Military Veteran who lived in Korea two (2) times. GOD speed to Korea.
