Bahut badhiya. If the faculty checks your video and finds you r doing video during the class, then you will be targeted unnecessarily. So be careful while shooting videos. So they made new buildings for mechanical engineering. That's very nice. Keep enjoying and study hard.👍

Adarsh it varies from year to year . I am actually new to the campus and i don’t know much about it but ,as far as i think you should see the placements and also the course structure . The course structure you like the most is something you will be able to study happily for four years . You should look into that segment as well . All the best 👍

You can go to NIT Rourkela website and see the course curriculum and brief written about the branch . You will get idea about it . Moreover you can search Monday Morning NIT Rourkela Industrial Design on google . It is the student media body where you will find a lot of articles about the alumni and placements.

Hi Siddharth, as a ID 2nd year student , I think I can better explain this dilemma of yours. Industrial Design is a really nice branch . The curriculum is new and has practical knowledge been taught . Design in itself is used in every area of our lives so Industrial Design is a very broad field, it encompasses many domains . Moreover for the 3rd semester u will study mechanical engineering subjects which is useful if u didn't get mechanical but want to give Gate Mechanical paper ,etc. Regarding the future of this branch , this branch is progressing quite well. The off campus placements from this branch have been too good. Most seniors are doing internships at renowned companies . Also if u wish to pursue Gov exams like Gate, CAT , UPSC or GRE,GMAT then this branch is the best option as it gives u lot of spare time apart from academic studies

@@adarshchoudhury9959 The answer would vary as per your long term goals. It depends on your goals like whether you want to go for placements, higher studies, civil services or anything else. If I talk about Mining engineering at NIT Rourkela, It was record 100% placement last year. In Industrial designing, There are very few selected companies that hire on campus, but it's one of the most relaxed branches, as far as I've heard. Youll get plenty of off campus opportunities. Anit can guide you better about ID. Civil is one of the oldest branches so you'll get opportunities in core. So not confusing you much; Determine your goal first, and then proceed with the choice filling order. Even if you're too confused between a few options, don't worry; there won't be much of a difference in the number of opportunities available in the branches; hardworking students from all branches get good internships and placements if they work on their skills from the start.

It is more related to how much rank you get in the exams . Percentile wise it is 99+ percentile .

I think last year cutoff was around AIR 2000 . So more than 99.5 percentile would be a safe zone to get CSE .
