Your videos are great for deciding HS seniors or incoming freshman to Rutgers. How much flexibility do incoming freshmen have scheduling classes, to avoid 8 am classes or night classes. Where did you find your shower caddy it's cool.

ixchel231 thanks! First semester freshmen basically just pick what classes they take, not when they take them. You get to choose on APA day. You can change the times if you want during add drop period though (first few days of the semester) however most people don’t alter their schedule too much. For your second semester it’s completely up to you

@@AaronBurt thanks for your response. My HS senior son is still deciding which college to go to. Rutgers is in his top 2! He's not too crazy about taking the bus and if he'll have enough time in between classes. What is APA day?
@AaronBurt5 жыл бұрын
APA (academic planning and advising) is a day for incoming students to visit campus and learn about how to schedule classes, access student accounts and resources etc. The busses take a little getting used to but really aren’t that bad. They run until 3am and you’ll never be waiting more than 10 minutes during peak hours 15 on the weekends and nights. As for getting to class on time I’ve never had a problem. Each campus has staggered class periods so you’ll have 20 min between classes on the same campus and 40 between classes on different ones. I’m taking 19 credits on 3 campuses this sem and have plenty of time to take the busses and get food in between. Good luck with the whole college process!

@@AaronBurt thanks so much for explaining buses how they work and registering. It's good they give you extra time in between classes. 19 credits?! Wow. 👍🏻

ixchel231 haha definitely. And for the shower caddy thing you mentioned before, I think it’s from bed bath beyond but not 100% sure

Is food free like the pizzas you always get? I’m really interested in this school but I’m just a freshman in highschool.

It's part of a meal plan which you have to pay or if you live on campus and can choose to pay for if you commute. It is all you can eat though!

Do you think that coming from Jersey City NJ to Rutgers would be convenient
@AaronBurt5 жыл бұрын
It depends. If you're a commuter NJ transit trains are pretty good although you would have to either catch it from Newark via the path or transfer at Secaucus junction. Driving isn't too bad distance wise although there is always alot of traffic and parking is difficult in New Brunswick. I always recommend that people live in New Brunswick if possible although that isn't always easy.

are there required classes you need to take like history and english along with major specific classes? thanks
@AaronBurt5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, there are a few requirements for everyone like Expository writing, a math course, natural science etc. If you google "SAS core Rutgers" you can check out the full list of requirements

What kinds of financial companies come by. I want to major in finance and was wondering how good the recruiting is over there.
@AaronBurt5 жыл бұрын
Hey Daniel, Rutgers is great for finance. In addition to the main career fair we have a Business career fair just for RBS. Basically all of the big banks recruit from Rutgers. I know people that have interned at Goldman, JP Morgan, BoA, Morgan Stanley, Citi, BNP Paribas and others. Also alot of smaller firms. Additionally we have a finance specific program called "Road to Wall Street" that you apply to going into sophomore year which sets you up with a mentor and helps you with your academic career

@@AaronBurt Thank you for the insight. Rutgers is definitely high up on my list as its only a 15 minute ride home and such a good school. Also regarding Freshmen year, what types of classes are you able to choose and which are mandatory?
