@@regenen no. traditionally the Mongols only use a single given name and no surname. this surname business is kind of forced upon us because the rest of the world requires it. as the result the Mongols in Mongolia decided to use their father names as surnames. but this is only for official use. no one uses the “surname” in day to day life and no one addresses someone using the “surname “ as it is awkward. the Mongols in Inner Mongolia still don’t use surnames in any official capacity.
