Hailey, i just want you to know, your videos always made my sucked days better. I've been following you since 2018 or 2019 i guess, through the worst phases of my life, breakup with my 5-years ex, unemployed and covid phase, lost my eldest brother and my dad. But here it is, you and your videos always accompanied me through all of them, i was so depressed back at that time, but somehow still had excitement to watch all of your videos you shared. Thank you so much, Hailey! Really hope you have a blissful life, sad or happy, wish you pass them merrily 😊❤

Never thought your videos had to be one thing or the other. Seeing someone be so honest about struggles and depression helps; seeing you wake up out of it and feel so much better is wonderful and hopeful; an entire video of best reads is wonderful too. You've led me to some favorite reads, and made me feel less alone when the dark closes in. Looking forward to wherever your channel takes you. ❤

the last two years i've also been in a depressive slump. stuck at home with little to no socialization, it's easy to loose yourself in a situation like that. you're really brave for posting this raw and real look at your life and it definitely makes me feel less alone knowing i'm not the only one who's been dealing with these things. thankfully, i've also been working on myself over the past year, and i'm also starting to feel better. here's to healing our hearts and souls!

I'm glad that you are working on yourself that is the best thing you can do for yourself. Also i totally understand sometimes the little things that don't seem important get to us when we are not feeling okay. and i'm glad that you are accepting that sometimes you will have an okay day and sometimes you will not and its okay.

1000 times YES. “It’s really hard when you’re in the depths of depression to find joy in anything.” Is so spot on. I lost myself for nearly 3 YEARS before I finally managed to climb my way back. It started super small, like how you’re saying with the Sun catcher in the window. I decorated the space above my work desk (I work from home) with a collage of things that felt like “me” that I could see throughout the day and it made me happy! Then I just started making a point to try out things that interested me to see if they brought joy. Some didn’t, but then those that did?! They helped my mental health tremendously. I have found a joy in planting and growing flowers in my front yard, crocheting things, cooking new foods, journaling, writing letters to my future self, etc. anyway to let me be creative. So often we get so caught up in the day to day of life that we don’t “check in” enough with ourselves. I’ve been a wife and mother for so long I couldn’t remember the last time I stopped to ask myself “what makes YOU happy? Not what made you happy 5 years ago. But what makes you happy TODAY?” It took trial and error but I learned so much about myself over the last couple of years, and I feel so much happier and more fulfilled now. Just from seeing this video in comparison to some of the others you’ve posted over the last little while your mindset already seems better and you already seem lighter/happier. You’re seeing things you want to work on and you’re acknowledging that and making a plan. ❤ I wish the best of luck to you on finding your joy, no matter what that is. The only tip I can give regarding content is: me as a consumer of all things book vlog, life vlogging, day in the life, etc. is film what makes you excited to film. Include whatever you want to include content wise - bookish or not! Will it get the most views? Who knows?! But your excitement for doing the video content you WANT to do will shine through and will pull in YOUR people. Those leaving nasty comments about the things you’re doing wrong? Those aren’t you’re people. ❤ Side note: As a girl from Texas, with this lovely summer heat 😅 it is almost the time of year when my pool water is too hot to be enjoyable. I don’t want to sit in a hot tub when it’s 100 degrees Fahrenheit outside 😂 so I feel you, just on the other end of the spectrum. If I am spending the money for the pool and the upkeep/maintenance I want to be able to enjoy it dang it! 😂

Good luck on your rebrand and reset. I don't watch a lot of her content but Darling Desi always has nice videos for the start of each season. She just put up one for the start of her soft summer that is a very peaceful watch. Has a mix of different content, but with some books too. Don't feel bad about being upset about the pool. That is upsetting plus expensive. You felt it and moved on.

I found you thru the booktube community, but my favourite videos of yours that I still go back and watch from time to time are vlogs, and weekly wellness videos. I'm excited to see the future of this channel and happy to see you happy❤ As a fellow Canadian, the Healthcare is an absolute horror. I'm in Nova Scotia and we have doctor and nurse shortages. Love this video ❤ I am glad that you are feeling yourself. It takes a lot to get to this stage. I know exactly what you have been through and what you are going through. I am continuing to grow every day. Weather definitely does play a factor in mood. Our comfort zones also hold us back. We do have to step outside of our comfort zones sometimes. It's hard but it's also healthy for us too. Don't forget your self-love time. It's important!!! You've got this girl!!! 🎉 You can do this. You've got a great support team. Its good that you went to your gratitude journal and than did a self-love project after an implosion emotional event. Its hard for us to see outside of the box sometimes when we get into those emotions. You did great!! 👍

Girlllll yes to all of this! I feel so similarly - kind of lost myself for the last few years and have just now felt like I've come up for air for the first time in a long time. I'm also working every day to get back to myself and to figure out better ways to manage my emotions and anxiety, and it has not been easy! 😅 but thankfully I feel like most days are good, and the ones that feel tough are not nearly as bad as they used to be. Emotional challenges come at me all the time, but I'm feeling a lot more confident that i have techniques to handle them with care. Much love to you on your journey and hope you continue doing well! ❤❤

ok so like with the way you felt about the pool...i find that's totally normal with things like anxiety. Me and one of my friends always kinda joke "I just need to be dramatic...and then i'll handle it". once I get past the initial emotional/anxiety response then I can sit down and be calmer and rational and go "Ok this is what we're going to do." Ive had a huge upheaval in my life recently and am having to make a big literal move, and have had some meltdowns over the past few weeks in the process and she just keeps going "You're doing amazing, you are allowed to cry, you're allowed to panic, but you're not allowed to quit." I think sometimes recognizing that things are upsetting, even if we know that our response sometimes isn't what others would consider "correct" it's helpful to get the feelings and the disappointment or anxiety OUT. We're allowed to have our feelings about things. All of us trying to work on our lives in any way are working on learning the best way for us to process things, and I don't feel like the processing moment happens instantly for anyone. You're totally good. Sorry if that makes NO sense. Basically trying to tell you you're not alone in that.

Looooook I’ll be the first time admit that I am a mentally ill princess myself so maybe I’m not the one to even say this lmao but I feel like it’s 10000% reasonable to “whine” about losing a silver lining/coping skill.. that fucking sucks!! I hope you find the perfect thing to fill the void soon. I loved this video btw, thanks for being so vulnerable and honest with us. It was extremely relatable to me.

Hailey I find that when you speak openly about issues, yes I understand others might see it as whining but you need to sometimes get it off your chest. Don't get me wrong when looking at it from outside perspective it could come across that way but what causes worry/stress we need to get it off our mind or worse things could happen.

Not sure how helpful this is, but going for a run/ getting all sweaty the en going in the pool may be a happy medium? In Texas, no heaters are required from about April until November 😂 I’m sorry to hear about the heater but I enjoyed your video!

I would be upset about the pool too!! If you haven't heard of this already, I recommend looking into Internal Family systems (parts), founded by Richard Schwartz. It might help with being able to look at strong emotions without getting "Consumed" by them like you talked about--totally relate!!

You know what... It is OKAY if you are upset that your pool won't be heated. It doesn't make you a bad, terrible, "first world problems" person. You can have perspective on the world AND be sad your pool heater is broken. ❤❤❤❤❤ Loved this video!

@@HaileyinBookland i’m sorry…. Re-reading what I commented, it sounds harsh compared to how I would’ve said it in person. I meant that in a gentle tone. Jsyk!! 🤍🤍🤍

Hi Hailey! I love that you are able to be open and honest about your depression. I suffer with manic depression and have for years. Last October I started seeing a new Dr and she changed my meds and I feel better than I have in a long time. I love the idea of journaling. I have watched your videos for several years and you always make my days brighter. I can't wait to see you branch out with the things that make you feel good about your self. I'm excited for you! I'm always here if you need to talk to someone who has been there! Lots of love😊
