Hello Lovelies, here's a little vlog, my first in fact! Its an insight into a day in the life being a business owner and also being a regular expert on the BBC's and Netflix USA's The Repair Shop.
**𝕎𝕙𝕠 𝕒𝕞 𝕀???**
Im Sonnaz and I run a business making exquisite bespoke upholstery and soft furnishings for residential, commercial and yacht interiors 🧵also I am the upholstery expert on NETFLIX US and BBC 1's The Repair Shop 📺. Myself and my team are Dorset based and I spend my time creating amazing, plumptious pieces and breathing new life into treasured items too! I am a strong believer in sustainability, making great and making once and looking after our little planet 🌍. SUBSCRIBE for more videos like this! 🎥
**𝕄𝕪 𝔾𝕠𝕒𝕝**
My goal here on KZbin is to inspire you to create, repair or maintain things in a sustainable, planet conscious way - all the while learning where things REALLY come from! I hope to build a little community of planet-conscious, craftsmanship loving people who love upholstery, interiors and attention to detail and to share ideas. I hope we can all learn together.

Thanks for doing these, they are a great behind the scenes look. When watching the show lately I find myself wanting to see more of the actual craft as the editing seems now to concentrate more on the people’s stories. I get that the emotion gets the wider audience, but I think a lot of we viewers want to see more of you experienced craftspeople doing your work and how you deal with the challenges of the restorations.

I love The Repair Shop! I'm in western Colorado, and have been watching the show for a few years now. I am impressed with the quality of work and dedication to you're individual crafts! Sonnaz, you have done some incredible work and I find myself becoming a real fan! I think that I relate to Dom and Steve, as they are both mechanically inclined however Will's woodworking skills are second to none, and Suzie and Lucias work just amazes me. I could go on all day, but I will just say that I can't get enough of the show and please know that there are many fans over here in the States that love your work!!

Love The Repair Shop (no doubt why I'm seeing this), but will subscribe because as a jack of all trades in the beautiful Pacific Northwest of WA state USA, I do upholstery when the need arises - and appreciate when I see you on the show. KZbin is finally releasing TRS in USA from Season 1,episode 1, and am enjoying it beyond words. You all are awesome as well.

Great to see your vlog or blog. My name is Alexander Smit and live in Schiedan NL. I allways watch the RepairShop on the box from The Netherlands on BBC or BBC First. As I am a furniture restorer myself, like Will but not as good as he. You are one of my favourites, because of your attitude you have to the other team and the clients coming to the barn

Nice first vlog. The appreciation for the misty hills and open plains and rolling hills reminded me of parts of here in California in the winter after a rain. Some moments just after dawn like that are so refreshing and uplifting. It really does put self-important rushing about in a better perspective, meaning yes, we are small, and nature around us is exquisite. As for “best of the vlog,” the bit showing finishing up the big blue sofa was my favorite because anytime I can watch a craftsman or woman at work in their natural work space reveals a bit of their expertise gained through a lot of practice and pursuit of excellence. Oh, and scarves, scarves, scarves! Never enough!

Please don't change the angle of the camera, you look great. I've really enjoyed The Repair Shop. Just wish there were more episodes on Netflix. I am happy to subscribe to your channel as I've always enjoyed watching you work and the sensitivity you have to the item you are upholstering and its relationship to its owner and their story. Having an interior design degree, I knew a lot of upholsters and have benefited personally from their work, particular those crafters that use old school methods. I hope there will be more coming on Netflix. I think I've watched them all the way through twice. I sold furniture for 40 years to high-end corporations and my main item was seating so I have been to manufacturing plants all through my career and loved the term " eight-way, hand-tied coil-spring construction." So when I saw you use this, it brought a big smile to my face. Good luck to you and I hope the shop brings you much success. Jane, Philadelphia

Just found you and I must say that I have enjoyed your side of The Repair Shop! I honestly thought that all of you lived in the area (within 30-40 miles) of the barn property and you all just came to the "shop" when an item that had been called in or given prior notification was scheduled to arrive. I had no idea that you had to stay in a hotel for a specific amount of time, lol! Does most do that? Wow....I've so many questions! On KZbin we are only at Season 4 episode 25. At first the episodes were being released once a week, but now its every other day. I had no idea that the show is actually on the 12th season! The practice of slowing down, being aware of what's around you and being thankful for each day is a very good awareness. Your landscape stops were truly beautiful and a few breathtaking! This is the first vlog I'm watching of yours. I've subscribed and I'm interested to watch more🙂 I'm a silk painting artist and I thought about doing a vlog about my work. I'm not sure about it all. Have you found it helpful to make a vlog about what you do? I hope you all had happy holidays and I pray you'll have a year full of abundant blessings! 😁

Splendid Vlog! A small piece of feedback if I may. At the end you ask whether the camera should be higher or lower - a friend of mine does pieces to camera and I tell him that I find that I am more comfortable with the camera lens level with the eyes of the presenter. I feel than that I am in an equitable position, engaged and included rather than being looked down on or feeling the inferior with the host looking down. Obviously when in motion this is not always possible. I also prefer not to have the vlogger's face filling the screen but at a conversational distance. Just my preferences but I hope that helps. Thank you [as an elderly hands-on maker] for being part of a wonderful team on one of the best programme series in the world.

Hi Sonnaz, enjoyed your video ( once I got over the seasickness caused by your opening shots!) I have question for you: What type of foam would you use for cushioning on outside chairs? I have found the usual cushions supplied by the stores to be far too soft, because sitting on plastic or even wooden chairs gives me a "numb bum" after a while! Finally I'm wondering which episode of the repair shop your fabulous chair will be on. Look forward to your future vids, keep safe.. Terence.

Great vlog, so much info and it’s lovely to see both sides of your working life. Personally I prefer the angle where you’re looking straight into the camera rather than the camera being higher or lower than your face but that’s just me. My 94 year old Mum and I met you in the café at Pamphill one day and you sweetly spoke to us for quite a while. Every time we went to the café after that (before lockdown of course) Mum would always ask me if you were in there again. You made an older lady very happy that say so thank you.

Love the vlog format, relaxed and natural..bit like you really 🤣. (That's a bit creepy sorry 🙄😁). Seriously this is just like an extension of TRS and just brings it all closer to us. The shots of my beloved Weald and Downland Museum and the beautiful Sussex Downs are fabulous. It is my go to place when things and life crowd in! So....welcome to my special place. You and the rest of the team are so wonderful, not only repairing treasured possessions but restoring memories and healing hearts. I always feel you all get so much out of it too! Thank you xx💕

That is a BEAUTIFUL view, I'm jealous. Did you apply to be apart of the repair shop or did they just hunt down restorers and ask you?

You're wearing a different pair of glasses in this video but also very nice. I must admit that I prefer the other pair a bit more because the Ray-Ban Clubmaster was always a favorite of mine when fitting attractive young ladies with glasses and you're no exception to that because you look so nice wearing yours also. Since you were about to drive off somewhere and weren't wearing glasses you do only need your glasses for seeing things close up and your distance vision must still be quite good.

Sonnaz, what a fantastic lifestyle, how lucky are you, what I would like to know is, do you design and build furniture from scratch ? or rebuild and restore, or all of the above, I was in Birmingham on business some years ago and came across a leather furniture shop that had a Budda style chair, which was shaped like a Budda, his arms where the arms of the chair his head was the headrest and you sat on his lap, Wow a bit wierd but fantastic craftmanship and the pouffe in front was a leather tortoise which looked brilliant, Ralph the Rhino that Susie Fletcher repaired reminded me of it, have you ever made anything that wacky ? or stayed more traditional, I love the vlog mate, keep it up... Cheers..

You appear to have got your age wrong - 35??? Seriously loved this first of many(I hope) vlogs! The joy you have for the job you do shines through the screen & your love for the tool box takes me right back to my apprenticeship! I had to make a metal one but really wanted a carpenters type box & to my surprise one of the carpenters at work made me one, how lucky was I - still got it & I'll try to send you a picture! I take it you have to wear the same everyday at the Repair shop for continuity reasons? Really looking forward to the next vlog xxx
