I recommend keeping your options open! Especially when you are so young. There are so many career paths in the world, tunnelling in on just one part of one career at 13 may blind you to a lot of really interesting careers!

So glad I found you! I have recently had a Septoplasty surgery 4 weeks ago and so far I feel so much better. I'm curious about one thing though, I've been using Betamethasone nasal drops and from the moment I used them I noticed there was a slight odour, not unpleasant, but bothersome. As I continued to use them the odour became stronger ( so......maybe it's just that I smell better now as time goes on). It became so bad that I couldn't sleep and felt nauseous, so I stopped using them thinking perhaps it was just using a bad batch of steroids. My new bottle from another batch did the same thing. Now I wonder, am I just smelling the chemical components of the steroid or perhaps it is just the combination of steroids mixing with tissue recovery fluids, or perhaps I just have a very keen sense of smell? My consultant who has 15 years experience had not heard about the smell from other patients. I would love to know if any of your patients have mentioned this.

Never get a turbinate reduction surgery. Turbinates are vital organs that are often overlooked by ENTs. Turbinate reductions could end up costing you your health and severe irreversible injuries. The extent of injuries are also not discussed in full detail with patients.

Greetings, Dr. Saib, I am from afghanistan I have had a sore throat for the last six years, I have consulted many doctors and they often tell me that you have an allergy problem. I have a sore throat once or twice and small white blisters appear. Now I don't know if my pain is in my stomach or if I am somewhere else hoping for your cooperation.

I could be mistaken, but I believe this varies in different institutions. I read online that there are some overlap between them with oral surgeons doing most dento-alveolar and orthognathics

I have been suffering sinusitis since I was a kid and up to this date. I also had asthma which occurred in 1998 and since then I have my turbohaler as my maintenance. I am now 73 years old and my problem is my sense of smell which is on and off but mostly I can’t smell. I dont want to depend on steroids cause it may harm my health. Is there any safe medicine on my case

Salam alaikum Inspector Khalid. I am not a doctor but I must say that it is not a good idea to ask for medical advice on the internet like this - it is not safe and it is not reliable. You need to see a medical specialist for this, otherwise if someone gives you incorrect information, you might hurt yourself. Inshallah we make dua for you and your health. Salam.

Why do ENTs continue to not help patients who are severely injured by unecessary aggressive and conservative turbinate/septoplasty surgeries? Why are these surgeries marketed in the first place? These are important organs that should not be touched unless there is a cancer or tumor yet ENTs continue to persuade patients into doing these procedures. Is there no ethics once the oath is taken?
