As a retired truck driver the best advice I can give is invest in a mini fridge, an electric stovetop, a nice TV/computer, a small grill for summer, adblocker for listening to things on youtube, A dehydrator for fruits and meats. Use truck stops for showers, laundry, and socializing. But don't give in and buy their over priced stuff. Plan your comfort accordingly. It's key for the long haul. Drive safe. Love from Wisconsin!

@@zionic76 I'm 34 now. I drove over the road for almost 11 years. Now I do building maintenance for apartment complexes. I'm glad I got to drive for that time. I saw some cool sites and made a lot of money. I was lucky to work for a company that where ever I was, I could always grab another load and bring it somewhere. I worked five months straight one time. Made well over a 100k that year.

Whether most of the old heads like it or not the younger generation is the future of trucking in this country and they will complain there's not enough drivers but also complain about young buck drivers entering the industry. It's a lose lose scenario when they could be respectful and realize everyone has to start somewhere. You don't start a job with 20+ years of experience in your 20s. Learn something new every day from everybody is the best motto I heard from a Drill Instructor.

We must turn to God and away from our sinful ways, Confess Jesus is Lord and believe with our hearts that he was risen from the dead by God, and we must be baptized in the name of the Father, the Son and The Holy Spirit and live by His word and Commandments! Used to love that shit. He’d prop his hand over mine and lay it on the stick shift as he drove and would make me pretend I was the one driving as I was in the passenger seat. He passed away the same day i finished my test.... The other instructor that taught me specifically was really hard on me. As i got better he loosened up, i nearly walked and hung up the keys. but i stuck with it, he grew to become one of my favorites, i found out the same day that the one instructor passed away, that his cancer had come back aswell. so that part of this video really hit hard for me. I’m 23 years old and I’m in the process of becoming a truck driver. For the majority of my life, I was surrounded by truckers. My grandfather, uncle, cousin and my dad were all truckers. Ever since I was 5 years old I wanted to be one. I always wanted to see other parts of the country. Watching this video just makes me want it even more, it’s even wanting me to start a new channel like this one. Alex, any tips for a potential new driver and possible channel?

Safety first, Brother. Always hit the airhorn before backing, even in the yard. Also, never exit the cab facing forward. Back out of the cab with three points of contact at all times. It's easy to miss a step.
@gaygemortashed7192
@gaygemortashed7192 Жыл бұрын
I agree, safety first. But I don’t think they have to always use the air horn if there isn’t anybody around. Cause honesty, I’ve seen truckers pull into a place to pick up their load, and it’ll be hella packed and they never use the air horn, just backs right in and leaves. Kinda nerve racking because that place where these truckers go (a building right next to my company) is always packed, and it’s a very narrow, spot to back down in. And trucks are literally mirror to mirror parked beside each other
