Tip: Get a Fish Hook Sharpener from a sporting goods shop. Keep your diaper pins Very Sharp and they won't drag or get stuck in the cotton cloth. A bit of Ivory Soap on the tip will also helps.

Looks like you are managing with pins very well. On the subject of changing a wiggly toddler are you able to show how to change pinned flats over your lap? I was trying to explain to another mom how its possible to still do pinned flats on an uncooperative toddler when out and about.

Wool can be used as the waterproof layer like you would plastic pants or another diaper cover. It can be lanolized to make it waterproof.

Do you ever need to double diaper for overnight or going out? I'm now finding I need to for my big toddler.

When we use only flats, I do double them for nighttime with one origami folded and one pad folded.

@@lainaslife6351 Thanks, my 3yo is nowhere near trained and in flats full time, just lately I'm finding I need to double diaper when we go out as well as for overnight. Most of the time he's in flat terry diapers, have you ever used them? It's a pity this message system doesn't allow me to add photos otherwise I'd show you how I but them on and you may be able to help.
