Our cadence chants were too obscene to ever publish on video. We ran in boots, running shoes were not though of back then. Bad feet and shins were a rite of passage. Our BCT was only 8 weeks in 1970. In another video I saw recruits catching crap in mess hall/ D-Fac. We did not catch shit in chow hall. Womens BCT was at a different base. . I shot my mouth off that I could qualify expert easy. Took crap from DS but I did it. I had 9 years of competitive shooting, had fired the M-16 in competition three times and won twice. I had a ton of range duty after I did what I said I could do, There were only two in my platoon and 7 in my company that had ever fired a riffle before. I could shoot all day. We had PT twice a day, m-f. Once on Saturday. No Sunday PT unless you were behind, and you worked out on your own. After week 3 Sunday after morning chow and formation we were free. UNLESS there was a major fuck up. Also after week 4 or 5 after Saturday lunch chow formation also on our own. If you were squared away, post privilege. Bowling center, USO Rec center, out door pool, PX, no em/nco club. But 3.2 beer at bowling center was allowed. Unless somebody fucked up. Not allowed off post till week 7 ended. We had more freedom, but training was more way more intense.

I went through basic training back in 1987.... wow,... today is nothing like back then. This seems like summer camp now. Do the Drill sargents say please and thank you to the recruits now? Lol

3:21 when i went to basic they made the women take their braids out I thought that was crazy because that hair style takes about 5 hours to do and costs hundreds of dollars. I'm happy they allow braids now for females if thats the case because the hair texture of a pony tail is just not realistic
