im turning 17 have slowly turned my 2d animation, illustrations and writing hobbies into a part time job, and its been fun. I've been struggling with the imposter syndrome lately so seeing someone who older than me and being able to be an independent artist makes me happy to know I'll one day be able to be in the same position.

I actually started doing my old hobbies again. Playing video games going to the gym watching TV and reading manag and other books. I just need to come up with a good schedule so I can make time to work on my comic. 😅

The travel thing is such a cool idea, though It pains me to know all the best opportunities come from privilege. Everyone joining the trip will already have a step up in their career journey. What are your thoughts about this?

Traveling abroad doesn’t make you a better or more desired artist. What makes you think it gives someone a step up? 😊

There definitely is some live of privilege / luck involved with any great opportunity, but at the same time I don't think I can say everyone who attends the trip is 100% that. Many people are either using payment plans, saving up, or have already worked for some time to accumulate the savings for it. I don't think it will automatically grant people a step up in their art careers as some people will be non-artists thinking about transitioning careers, and some people are a lot older and rethinking their paths. It's a lot more nuanced than just privilege in my opinion! I have a discord group where I get to speak with all my travelers, and I can definitely guarantee it's not a 100% privilege type of situation!

I've a question, maybe someone here can help me out, I hear having an agent is better to get hired and stuff, but is that possible for some that's not in the US? I'm from latin america and tbh that's never been brought up here. In this case, I'm asking if someone outside the US can get an US agent.
