@@LucelYoshizawa Really, they're not too different. They know a lot less coming in obviously, but by the time they hit the last year of JHS they're probably not too far off from your first year students. We tend to do a lot of games and speaking exercises, though we had to cut back the last year because of the pandemic. Also do a lot of work on pronunciation and smooth speaking with students that request it/if we have extra time.

Hi vero! ☺️ Sorry for the late response, and thank you for visiting my vlog ❤️ Regarding the placement, to be very honest, no one really knows. 😅 In my case, however, yes. I put Tokyo as my first choice, and neighboring cities as my 2nd and 3rd. I wrote the reasons why I wanted to be placed in Tokyo. Since my husband (then fiance) is working and living in Tokyo. Hi Marichu! ☺️ Thanks for visiting my channel. And apologies for the late response 🙏 Regarding nihonggo, to be fair, you actually don't necessarily have to learn the language before coming to Japan. There's an advantage here when you know at least a little of the language 😉

Hi there strawberry soda ☺️ Uhm, I am not sure which company do you want to apply as an ALT, but in terms of the JET Programme, for Filipinos like me, one of the requirements is actually a Bachelor's degree. Quoted from the official website of the Embassy of Japan in the Philippines (JET Programme Eligibility Requirements); "hold a Bachelor's degree or higher, or obtain such qualifications by the designated arrival date." ☺️ I believe it's best to consult the company/ organization in terms of the requirements to be sure ☺️❤️

Thank you for this informative video, Miss. I hope I could make it, too. Am just a bit worried about the demo and interview. 😅 Just a question, is it required to have at least TESOL/TEFL certificate? I am a BSED-English graduate with 4 years of teaching experience.

Does your husband alsoh work as a JET teacher?:) Me and mt husband are hoping to move to Japan next year! U really want to be a JET teacher and he wants to live and work in Japan, but isn't as keen on teaching. Do you have any suggestions on couples applying together or bringing your husband with you?

Hi there! ☺️ Glad to know you're interested in living and working in Japan ❤️ Uhm, about my husband, he's actually a Japanese ☺️ But I know some American friends who are a couple, applied together, and got into the JET Programme together ☺️ Their working assignments are even near to each other ❤️

Question, if I may ask for your advice. I'm currently still in college and want to apply for JET. My estimated graduation date is 2023. Should I apply in 2022 or in 2023?
@LucelYoshizawa
@LucelYoshizawa 2 жыл бұрын
Hi there! ☺️ Uhm, I know some JET friends who actually graduated a month or a few before coming to Japan, which means they applied even before graduating. So I guess there's no problem with that 😊 Just for me, I were in your shoes, I would apply in 2023. Since the JET application process needs a separate time and effort and I don't want it to be in conflict with my last few months in college ☺️ Based on my experience, while the JET application only has 2 stages, I really spent so much time for it. Especially on the first stage. I did a lot of research and read a lot about the JET Programme before finally submitting my documents ☺️

@@LucelYoshizawa I've actually been preparing for over a year now. I've been working on my statement of purpose and did a lot of research. I know what I need, but have been having issues getting hold of documents because of Covid. Like my passport. It's like near impossible to get my hands on one right now. I was hoping to see if I can go right after I finish so I'm not struggling to find a job in the mean time while I apply. When you applied did you apply in 2020 or in 2021? I might have to apply in 2023 like you said if I can't get my hands on documents.

@@LucelYoshizawa 2019! That's insane. With the way things are going I think I might try for the 2022 application just to see if I can do so. If not then 2023 it is! I better start hustling now. How are you liking it so far? Is it much different because of Covid?
@LucelYoshizawa
@LucelYoshizawa 2 жыл бұрын
Haha. Was also gonna add that given you already actually prepared for it, and just need to get a few more documents, then I guess it's better to try in 2022. You got a year more to process for your passport and stuff 😉 I've been loving it, so far. Although I would say it's not 100% okay all the time cause of certain factors like the pandemic, homesickness, etc. But work per se, it's very good. No heavy workloads, and I got time to explore more on other things. ☺️

hi, I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism po ten years ago, tas I stopped the medication, it doesn't really affect my day to day living, do you think it would greatly affect my application?
@LucelYoshizawa
@LucelYoshizawa 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Angelica! ☺️ I'm sorry to hear your story but I believe it doesn't affect your application. As far as I could remember, it is indicated in the application that you have to write in your medical report any diseases 'within 5 years'. So I don't think it is necessary for you to mention about your hypothyroidism if it happened 10 years ago ☺️I don't know if they changed it, so better check the Medical Report on the Application Guidelines. If it doesn't indicate there to write any sickness beyond 5 years, then you don't have to ☺️

This is 2 months late but I heard the jet program never looks at your request to where you want to live unless it’s something important. For example needing to live near a hospital. Unless you don’t have a big enough reason to actually get permitted to the city you requested they won’t even look at it . So I suggest you prepare for the worse and I mean living in the country side. Hopefully you get your wish to live in Tokyo and get accepted into the jet program

@@badarfarah4736 JET isnt the only path to becoming a ALT. Whilst its likely the best of all the options its also the hardest to get into. Honestly im not overly picky about where in japan im sent, as long as its not the absolute peak of hokkaido or something lol thanks for the comment though👍

Hi @sage! 🥰 I apologize if I overlooked your comment. But I am really happy to know you're excited to work here! ☺️ If you're considering Tokyo, I guess it's one of the best options. As you may know, it has a lot to offer ❤️ The only disadvantage living in Tokyo is the cost. Cause it's relatively higher as compared to living in other cities/prefectures in Japan. I'll be creating a vlog about Tokyo apartment soon and how does it cost ☺️ As for the students, for me, they are somehow easier to handle since ALT isn't a main teacher. So whenever you teach the students, there's almost always a JTE (Japanese Teacher of English) with you ☺️.

@LucelYoshizawa
@LucelYoshizawa 2 жыл бұрын
Hi John! Thanks for watching my vlog 🥰 Glad you're interested in the programme ❤️ hmmm. as for your question, actually it's a no. ☺️ JET participants are strictly not allowed to have other income-generating activities. Especially if you're assigned to a public school ☺️ However, there are some cases which JET participants assigned in private schools are allowed to do that. So basically, if it's a public JET, definitely a NO. but if it's a private JET, it depends on the school ☺️ Hope it helps ❤️
