I am in medical school right now, and your videos give me inspiration! I can see how dedicated you are to your patients and their families. It is a challenging job, but incredibly rewarding. Please continue making more videos :) It's helping me get through all of these clerkships!

I would work 12 hours on Friday, then start a call shift for the entire weekend and be on surgical schedule all of Monday….it’s insane

@@lottie1144 I think it has alot to do with the specialty you go into an weather or not you have a spouse to help carry the financial load or family an also the state an area you live in an also How you budget your money, like she just said shes been a neurosurgeon for 10 years... When you begin especially in your first year alot of people think they can drive brand new $80,000 cars an rent a one bedroom apartment for $2,000 when your never even home to enjoy it 🙄 Its all about balance wiyh any job 🤷🏻♀️

I work in the Transfer Center of a level one trauma center and comprehensive stroke center. My job is to call surgeons for potential transfers from facilities in surrounding 17 counties. Out of all the specialties I call, I have our 5 neurosurgeons phone numbers memorized because I call them so much. Y'all work so hard! Thank you for all you do.

Several years ago…I worked in a Level 1 Trauma OR as an RN. We had so many Cranis and Laparotomies that we ran out of instruments. That was a bad one but we had the best overnight staff that evening. Completely understand!!

multiple occasions throughout those 9 days. The last 4 days I didn’t move from bed not even to pee… that’s when my mom brought me to the ER again in the middle of the night unexpectedly. They pumped my IVs and that hydrated and grew a brain abscess that was 5.6 cm x 2.6cm x2.2 cm. I had surgery on my brain and have a pick line now. My surgery was on may 25th. I had a follow up MRI recently and the abscess is now 3.0cm x 1.6cm x1.8cm. My results came in through mychart but have yet to be reviewed by a care team. Should I be concerned that there is still an abscess?

Considering almost all healthcare facilities are already understaffed….what do you think can be done? I work in a nursing home and our facility is considered well off. We’re still understaffed almost every day.
