Fellow PTA here. A trouble caregiver at 9:25. I get some of these caregivers that request a PT to take place of the PTA because they feel they are "more qualified". These people are ignorant and do not understand we are licensed and have gone to school as well. As far as "pushing the patient"...we are not personal trainers.. We guide the patient to perform the exercises and we are not obligated to "push them", if the therapist personality is like that, then lucky for the patient. I believe it is also the caregivers' responsibility to push their loved one.

Very cool to hear about some of the different patient's situations and what can go on during a visit. How much time would you say you spend on the road during a day of visits?

Varies a lot. On average maybe 10-20 minutes in between patients

Can you describe your relationship with the PTs? Are you in constant communication with them? Do you ever have to go into an "office" setting, or is all your work (outside of direct patient care) on the phone/computer?

I am a home health PTA. How in the world do you see 9 patients a day? what time do you start and get done? lol Then you drive 40 min to the Keys?? very curious to know this. Our weights for the day are 6 patients per day. Love your videos!

Thanks! Yeah thankfully it doesn’t happen much. But those days I’ll have a group of 3-5 patients who are within 5-10 minute drives so that helps. Long days though. And a lot of documentation in the evening

Hi Jared! I’ve been watching your videos and they are super informative! I’m starting PT school this summer and I’m thinking about doing HH when I get outa school cuz I am a mom of three kids and could really use some flexibility of schedule. That being said One of my concerns about HH is safety. Do you have any advice on that aspect? Thanks in advance!

Hi Jared. I am wondering. How is the 2022 PTA paycut affecting your career and other PTAs. I have a family, I'm a single mom and need to make money. Idk if I should go forward with the PTA program bc of the 21% paycut
