Was that shrine the Inari-jinja close to the castle? And did you get a chance to visit Suizenji Jojuen? It is so pretty.

@@sarahluxfontaine2408 yes, I passed by the Inari and Katō shrine right next to the castle. I have not unfortunately, but I hope to visit Kumamoto again! I have not tried specialty food there and I'm sure there are many places to keep exploring. Anything else you would recommend to see/do in Kumamoto? Thank you for recommending seeing Suizenji though, because I was told it's not worth it 🤷♀️

@@aiya_yes I’ve spent only one day in Kumamoto in November, so my recs don’t go much further than that :/ But I really enjoyed the vibe there. Suizenji - I guess it depends, if you have a thing for Japanese gardens, it is surely quite rewarding.
