I go to the Milton Hershey School. At the time, you'll think "Ugh, man this is bad". But you look back and you realize "Man, what Mr and Mrs Hershey did was awesome". I love the Milton Hershey School. You got very clean houses and school buildings. The security at MHS is one of the best security in the country, the education here is just amazing. I only got 2 more years at the MHS. like I said, at the time you think "Oh, this is so dumb". And I have thought that myself already. But you can't give up. You will succeed if you just try yoru hardest. I look bak at the years and I go "Wow, look how fast that went".

Very informative and well spoken by all. You really gave a in depth view of what you do and how you are developing the children to find happiness, explore their unique talents and be kind and productive children. This is such a wonderful opportunity in giving each child a stepping stone to being the best moral adults they can be in hopefully passing on what they learned to the next generation. Well done house parents!

Just wondering how the dynamic works for those that have two dependents. I have tried and tried to find more information on this, but so far have found very little. I know that your kids do not attend the same school, but would love to see a video of parents explaining how they juggle their kids (or dependents) as well as their houseparent duties.

I don’t know how I would feel about someone else essentially raising my children. My kids waking up and hugging someone else, someone else tucking them in. The way they speak about these kids, it’s like they are theirs. ‘I tuck in our kids...’ Don’t get me wrong. I think this school is an incredible gift for kids that need it. But I have to wonder, are kids in high risk situations even being considered for this? Are their parents even aware, would they take the time to do this for their kids? I’m speaking about kids that are abused or are in poverty stricken homes.

I think what he meant when he said "our kids, i put our two to bed" like him and his wife have their own two kids that also live there. I seen a different video where the people had their own kid living there aswell and said they dont want the school kids calling them dad or mom but everyone is different so you never know

The “I tuck in our kids” was referring to their own children. Also house parents are very helpful because the kids placed in these homes are usually for serious situations. It’s important that they have someone who loves them and can show them that care. : )

Thanks indeed for describing all the details of the job. Perhaps, we, my wife and I, make a perfect couple to help the students. Not only that we are fairly experienced and well qualified but also sincerely keen to help the children. Let’s hope that the kids find and meet God sent parents.
