@Bleek Chain Yes he was met with indifference. I have been following Ig since 1974. You couldn't give The Stooges' albums away back then. He said "Raw Power" was in the bargain bin albums section within six months of its' release. The first two albums were deleted for many years, and it was only after the Sex Pistols and the Ramones cited The Stooges as a big influence that they were reissued. Good luck to him. It has been a long, brutal journey, but he has got to the top of the mountain eventually.

OMG! I bought the first STOOGES album in 70 ( I think) and it was a cutout in the bargain bin! The coolest kid in school told me about it! I heard Wanna be your Dog!!!! AND THAT WAS IT!!!! I PLAYED THAT THING EVERY DAY TILL IT WAS WORN OUT!!! I made every one I could listen to it! It was great!! It sent people running from the room!!! Not because it Sucked but because it Literally SCARED Them!!!!! But the ones who got it! Changed just like me!!!

@@scooter8828 Scott When I took "Raw Power" to college in January 1976, I played it to a group of people who were into Queen, Floyd (post-Syd Barrett), Yes and LZ. Nobody said a word. After the opening track, this pompous idiot took it off the turntable and said to the crowd of hippies "Let's hear some REAL MUSIC !" He played "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" to loud cries of approval. They never spoke to me again....... A few weeks later, an upcoming band called the Sex Pistols were making huge waves with their new sound. One of the encores was "No Fun". By the end of 1976, Ig was the King and the Old Guard were swept out of sight. Saw the Man on Sunday, March 5th, 1977 at the Rainbow, Finsbury Park, London. He sang like prime time Jim Morrison and moved like James Brown. Bowie was on keyboards. People lost their minds that night. Seen The Ig many times afterward. Nobody has come even remotely close. Only James Brown, Hendrix and Elvis '56 have rivaled him. As for The Stooges, their performance at Hammersmith Apollo on Tuesday 30th August 2005 was so good, I didn't see another group for three years!

It's amazing he is 72 years old he looks a bit tired but his mind is still good. I went to see him live in 1986 he was full of energy boy it was lound but never forgot that gig.
