I don't get it, our local council will take the sofas away on bin day if you let them know about it. Failing that, it's about £20 to get it collected and removed. Furthermore, if they had a vehicle to dump the sofa, it could have went to a tidy tip|!!

In my area all dogs, cats are taken straight to a skip then landfill, we don't have fridges never have in the last 20 years. Animals are not scanned due having no scanner issued to carry out the task plus data protection laws apply. Lost count of the number of dead pets involved in traffic collisions. No records are kept of animals collected. Ask your local council worker to see a fridge at a depot.

@@Jibbie49 I live in the highlands of Scotland the amount of rural roadkill we remove is low but in residential areas is high. Young livestock like highland cows, lambs and deer mostly drown or get hit resting on roads where there is a bend. This year there will be no tourists due to COVID so the amount will drop. we use a JCB to remove animals or a snow plough in winter time that will push them off the road.

I wish here, where I live, Texas, U.S.A. we had litter pickers. It only gets picked up off the highway when the law-breakers have to fulfill their community service. I would love to have everyday litter pickers throughout the neighborhood and city.

In Greece there's no prosecution for leaving heavy rubbish (broken/old furniture etc). You just need to leave them in a spot they don't block a passage or something. Then all you have to do is call over your neighborhood's town hall street cleaning service and state it. Well, I guess Greece is not famous for its extremely clean streets, but to be prosecuted for something like that it's no good either. What if those stuff belonged to an old person who's unable to take them whenever they're supposed to go, or financially unable to arrange a private cleaner's track?
