You should do it! You will learn the intricacies of mechanical and electrical systems and learn to fight fires and floods! It's the best/most physical trade in the Navy, after 5 years of it I have no ideas of ever leaving

Those kingstons had their 40mm bofor gun removed in 2014. Average icebreakers are more capable warships. They don't carry guns but can ram other ships.

This is a Coastal Patrol Vessel, not a Destroyer. Her .50 cal machine guns are all she needs to do her job.

You speak the truth unfortunately. Myself I don't consider two WW2 machine guns adequate for anything but Japanese Zeroes in tropical waters. Next year will be the 10 year anniversary of nuts cut off this coastal vessel.
