The truth about the Oracle's insight is that her chamber was situated above a sulfer deposit. The fumes would rise into the chamber, and the oracle would breathe them in, causing some hallucinogenic properties. I've seen some people claim it was just "winging it" but this overlooks the craziest part. Thank you for this! Would love to see a TED video on ancient divination (and maybe philosophical arguments for its veracity).

The good thing with giving ambiguous prophecies is that people will interpret them in the way they subconsciously prefer, meaning she’s just guiding them to choose the option they think is better

I have learned in Latin class that some oracles (not sure if it was the Oracle of Delphi) were forced to take in some drugs and through states of forced delirium or epilepsy, they would give their prophecy. Like a lot of women got abused in this profession...

Haha, 1:32 τέμενος (témenos) means "mosque" in modern Greek. Also, the girl should probably be Αριστονίκη (Aristoníkē) and not Αριστόνικη (Aristónikē) as ancient Greek words with a long ending cannot be accented on the antepenultimate, that is the 3rd syllable counting from the end of a word. Other than that, amazing presentation!
