It feels surreal that long ago there were thes people who had their language which is either déad or spoken very differently then the original one, the culture and their lives.

One thought. If you associate personal identity with your "inner movie" or sense of self, then it seems obvious that such a life void of that would be meaningless for all such individuals. The persons would not be people any more than a chimpanzee, dolphin, or crow is. If you are not a person, I do not think you can even find your life to be meaningful/worth living because that requires being able to reflect in the third person about yourself and life, something which humans seem uniquely capable of. So the question should be: would you still be you, in the conscious sense, with Polixate? The answer seems to be yes since it just gets rid of memories, creativity, and culture, not your sense of self or conscious perception. But surely so long as you are still you and capable of "human thought," culture does not matter. You think X and Y are the only things that make life worth living to you, but if you were born 500 years ago (or without X and Y altogether) your would think instead that C and D make life worth living. Its this ability to find things worth doing that matters, not this or that culture. If you think that some people only find things to be worth doing because of creativity or imagination, I would wonder if they would think that and come to the same conclusion had they been born without it in the first place; would they still come to the conclusion that life is not worth living then? There seems to be something else which makes life worth living beyond these particulars that people attach as answers in virtue of valuing them coincidentally, or contingently but not necessarily. The question is if Polixate removes our conscious capacities or not. Can we still reflect and find things meaningful and worthwhile generally? The answer seems to be yes, so goodbye Nuronium!
