It certainly makes sense that the missing hole in the venturi is the cause of the poor running issue. Fingers crossed, that fixes things! We appreciate all your efforts to film - it's a fantastic resource now for VW enthusiasts to watch all your videos!

Thanks Robert. Seems to have been a combination of the missing venturi holes and undersize/mislabeled jets. Sure wish they would up their QA game!

Those fiberglass shells are never perfect fit and SO stiff. He did a great job mounting that body to the chassis 👍🏻 it’ll be interesting to see how the drilled Venturi works. Since you had contaminates in the fuel I wonder if something is blocking the line from the tank? Have you blown back in to the tank through the line and see what happens? Maybe it will kick something out? Weird man, so weird. Here’s another thought. Put a fuel container in the back of the bug and pull fuel from that to the carbs bypassing everything else. If it fixes it then you got a restriction somewhere.

Thanks Stew! I was a little surprised that a new body didn't really fit much better than a 50+ year old one. As for the Baja, you can hear about the fuel issues on tonight's video 🙌

Try moving the fuel pump up near the tank. They push fuel better then pull

Thanks. I this case i don't beleive its the issue, I beleive it is the missing holes in the venturis. I'll know for sure in the morning when I put it back together and take it for a drive.

Only an expert would know about those holes. It’s a bit strange that the holes are not there to begin with ? Hopefully that will solve the issue, and we can hear that engine roar to life. Thanks, Rick….. 🌴

Yeah, I didn't know about it. No other carb type I'm used to has a hole like that in the venturis, it's kind of odd. Anyway, it's all ironed out now!

Note to self: don't buy EMPI kadrons. Some say don't buy kadrons at all. LOL.

Good rule of thumb. I've had good luck with the Empi ICT's.
