When we tell people we have Dissociative Identity Disorder they often ask what DID is like to live with, along with other questions about how many times we switch, who is out most, how long are alters typically out for, what we do with our days, and so on..So we thought we'd film a random day in the hope to answer some of those questions. Feel free to join a few of us for a little day in the life style vlog and most of all please remember this is just one day from one system, everyone is different and everyday is different. This was a pretty good day for us, some days are a hell of a lot worse, DID (and OSDD, another disorder that can result in multiple personality states) is at the end of the day a trauma based disorder so it comes with a lot of other (very very un-fun) things to deal with, its not just about having multiple people bobbing about. Hope you enjoy, let us know your thoughts and any more questions you may have if you'd like to. Do all the KZbin things if you'd like, and have a lovely day! Oh and thank you for our 100 subscribers, shout out to anyone who's actually sticking with us through our infrequent uploads and varying content (we're working on it I promise), we see you and appreciate you, absolute star's the lot of you.

We know all the words can be tricky to get your head around at first (along with the whole thing in general) so here are some definitions of commonly used words and some links to resources that we think are pretty good:
Alter - A common term used to describe the different personality states prevalent in DID and OSDD, short for 'Alternate Personality', all the people you're seeing here basically
Switch - This describes the process of one alter going 'back' and another alter coming 'forward' to front in the body, "switching personalities"
A system - A common name for the collective group of alters within one body
Being out/Fronting - Both ways of saying "the alter that's in control of the body"
Co-conscious - Having more than one alter near the front, so if one person is fronting and another (or a few others) are close by, like they're sat in the passenger seat of the car looking out the front window with you
Co-fronting - When two alters (or more?) are fronting at the same time, sort of like those cars that have duel control (the ones you do driving lessons in) both people are right there at the front, both (sort of) in control
(Lemme know if we missed any of the main ones!)

Some KZbinrs to watch to begin or continue you DID and OSDD explorations:

And so many more, like there so many more that are wonderful beings but I felt I shouldn't overwhelm....

Thank you for sharing your life. ❤ I have DID as well, and I personally feel like this resonates with me so much. Its nice seeing another system going about their life so calmly! It makes me feel at peace. ❤

i find it so cool and intersting that you use different names for when two or more alters are co-con! we almost did that but then someone sorta shyed away from it lol

@@theadventuresofpolyphony8032 I assume this person thought that "Amber (Alice & Katie Co-con)" meant that Amber is the name you use when Alice and Katie are in the front together?

@spinninglegends @Duck Facye Ah, that would make sense and sounds like a really cool idea. We actually meant that I ( Amber) was out and Alice and Katie were both close by but I really like the idea of a combination name! ~ Amber

It’s amazing how people like this can manage to conjure multiple fake identities, yet still can’t manage a single ounce of personality.
