Always best to wear a tie if meeting clients. Just looks better. I worked in M&A but then transitioned out with a Masters in quant finance - 7 figure salary and no clients so can be more casual in the office with no tie now, except when we are meeting investors for fund raising. Compared to our US or Chinese friends in their nations (i had colleagues from both), that commute is nothing but not great for Brits on a tiny island who hate long commutes. I bought an apartment in Canary Wharf just to avoid the commute that keep as investment property now.

Fully agreed, it is very important to look smart and to dress slightly better than your clients/stakeholders. Sounds like you have a great role! The commute time isn’t too bad, it’s the unreliable transport system that causes my main frustrations 🤣

Great video - completely understand the commute - I'm a Wealth Manager that endures a similar 1.5hr commute when I do need to go into the office, but the Wharf is special on a nice day!

Thank you, fully agreed. For me the commute is worth it to be able to live in the countryside, just outside a large city that has a fast connection into London.

It is a long commute but you’re correct; I’m able to live in a 4 bed detached house with a garden, in London for a similar cost I would get a 1/2 bed flat. I do sometimes wish I lived in London though when the trains aren’t working properly. Thank you for watching
