Around here suckers move up streams from our reservoirs in the spring to spawn . I have also speared them at night in rivers from john boats with snow still on the ground. We fillet them and then score through the bones every 1/3 inch, batter and deep fry. That way the bones seem to disintegrate.

All the people who are commenting about eating suckers I understand that you don't like the waste of animals and killing for sport but the number of suckers especially around my area is giant and killing some suckers will make no dent in the population, also very few people eat bottom feeders like suckers, or carp, or freshwater drum(sheepshead) this guy was just trying to make an entertaining video and he isn't affecting anything.

Fatality gaming there is only one species in the sucker family outside of the USA, namely the Chinese sucker. but they have never been recorded in the USA. all sucker species are native but because they compete with gamefish that make the state money most states advocate the slaughter of them. as a result most sucker species are badly pressured. if you are going to eat them feel free to kill as many as you can, but otherwise let them go.
