A day on the coast - Wellness break on Pico Island Portugal. Keep our oceans alive & healthy. Ep 7

We must all help clean the oceans. Places like Pico Island Azores must be protected and kept in its present pure clean state. Getting rid of plastics, rope and fishing lines must be a priority around the world.
On this video we take you out with us to a unique coastal area of Pico Island; just steps away from the village of Lajes.. We spend the day in a pristine, healthy and protected salt marsh; the largest in the archipelago of the Azores, Portugal.
In this salt marsh we got to see these amazing clear and healthy tide pools. In these pools we can see star fish, crabs,, shrimp and various species of fish. Out here the lava formations also vary; boulders, smooth, black, red etc
Along the way we also picked up some washed up garbage such as plastics, rope and fishing lines. It's vital for all of us to do our part; our species depends on it.

I miss Pico. My husband and I go often, at least 3 times a year, but unfortunately this year due to Covid we didn’t. Thank you for showing this beautiful island. I agree. We all have to do our part to keep our oceans clean. Love watching your videos.

Beautiful. My great grandparents immigrated to the USA 100 years ago from St Miguel. I was fortunate to visit in 2019, but judging by this video I am going to consider Pico in the future.

hi, I love to see your videos they are authentic, thanks for sharing I live in the states but I am originally from Sao Miguel, I never been to pico and one of the things I, liked about the Azores is lapas,i see your guys eating in many places but never eating lapas,i wondering why maybe you don't like or don't care about? continue whit your videos they are very informative and authentic good job and good luck whit your entrepreneur plans.

We are glad you are enjoying our videos Carlos; it means a lot. We have eaten some lapas mostly at family gatherings; they were done in the oven with lots of garlic and olive oil not raw. Take care!
