I take care of my mom who has Dementia and most days she doesn't know my name and I just wanted to say Thank You Chet for putting out awesome vlogs and giving me time to escape from reality if just for 15 minutes! You and your family are the best, thank you!

I know how it is looking after your mum with dementia as I lost my mum and year ago as I was her carer. It's really hard but remember the good times.

So much fun with Doug :). Very heartwarming that he needed to explain his mistake himself. That honesty and integrity generation is indeed heading toward retirement lol :(,but their kids are the bright spot to carry on. Doug,you are far too healthy and intelligent to retire and I am sure that tons of us old folks would miss you on this channel...keep up the good work and the great videos...Chet and Nicole also need all of your wisdom for years to come :).

Get a pail of really hot water and stick the end of the hose in for a few minutes and it will slide over that connecter really easy. Has worked for Me quite a few times.
@chadcolby13204 жыл бұрын
Agreed, I have even had to do what you did plus put barb fitting in the freezer for a bit because I fought it so much. Expand with heat on one end and shrink the other end by freezing. Some work without doing any of that and others cost you 4” of your hose 😂😂

Dougo you can put wireless cameras on in the bins with a monitor in the control room. Than you can see if the right grain bin and you can see how full the bin is without having to climb the bin. My son did this for the farmer he helps it works well.

Dawn soap, a bit of water, and if worse comes to worse, a hair dryer or heat gun used around the hose end before you stick it on the Banjo coupler, helps.

Great video and we all love watching Chet, Dougo and the Big Sweed working hard together. Even if its a bad week like you boys seem to be having this week. Even if the Big Sweed did get stuck in the wet spot. See Dougo it happens to every one at some point and as you said the Big Sweed blamed the tracks! As my gramps used to say- A bad workman always blames his tools. This is when something goes wrong.

Chet the trick to putting those ends on the hose is warm the end of the hose up to soften it and make it more plyable or take a piece of rope and a large screwdriver or piece of rear end tie the hose 1 foot up the hose go down over the fitting and back up the other side of the hose and use the screwdriver and on one side use the driver to start a twist on the rope and it will pull the fitting right into the hose . Would be Easter to show you than to explain it but it does work slick and easy
@woodyw37184 жыл бұрын
Dugo don't beat yourself too much, with what you guys have going it's bound to happen. Life goes on, What don't kill you, makes you stronger. Of course who ever said that probably is in a crazy house somewhere.

I really like the humility Doug has shown regarding the bean kerfluffle. Stuff happens but he didn’t hid from it or try to pin it on something or someone else. That’s inspirational. Any chance Nicole might model that t shirt before it goes to the big rag bag? That too would be inspirational.

I work in commercial spraying business and we make hoses all time, trick is to heat the hose, especially the more rubber style hoses, but put some oil or grease on the barb fitting and inside the hose and then tap it on ground and slide right in usually.

When you two farm boys want to play with flexible piping again, before trying to shove it onto fittings try soaking the end of the pipe in a bucket of HOT water. It's amazing how easy it is to shove something hard into something soft when it's warm...... You also won't lose 4 inches ever again.

@brandonclontz24164 жыл бұрын
We use a propane torch to heat the end of the hoses like those to help the break loose. Also tire mounting compound(tire goop as we call it) works great for lube and doesn’t effect pumps or sprayers
@charlesyates66874 жыл бұрын
Now you need to get a plastic watering troff that fits over that pump cut out for the hoses so the pump is protected from the elements

Don’t feel bad, when I was working my way through college with an electrical company, I was in charge of filling up all of work trucks. I was in a hurry one morning and drove off with the gas pump nozzle still in the fill hole. Needless to say, when I drove off, the hose ripped away from the gas pump. It was in slow motion. I lived. In other words $hit happens. Never retreat. 👊🏼👊🏼 😂
@pederb824 жыл бұрын
Want that pump to last a little longer? Put a little roof over it so the water from the roof don’t run down onto it. Also, change the oil after a few hours of running. I know they say you don’t really need to do a break in on engines these days but in my eyes that’s a way of making sure any engineered failure actually works so that you have to buy a new one. Let it rip for a while and wear in and swap that dirty oil. :)
