A day with me at TAYO ECO RESORT | Part 1 |

Well today its not NG WORLD vlogging it me IAMTHEWORLDTRAVELLER.
Tayo Eco Resort having its slogan "LITTLE THINGS IN THE GRAND SCHEME" is Located at the top of Shanti Danda or Peace hill in Nagarkot almost 32km away from the capital city Kathmandu. The Resort reflects a slice of Newa culture and architecture of Kathmandu having breath taking view of the Himalayan range as cherry on the top.
I and my family stayed at the Tayo Eco Resort for two days and a night. Checking in at 5th of June in the evening we five got ready in our swimming suits to dive into the pool leaving the resort exploration for the next day. The view of the sunset from the pool we could enjoy while having fun swimming was absolutely miraculous. After a good 2 hour in the pool, it was our dinner time and we being vegetarians we requested for the best dish the resort could provide us. We were served with selections of vegetables, roti, rice and also Italian white sauce pasta, all foods were extremely delicious.
Talking about the rooms, the resort has its tradition theme going on in every corner of Tayo that your eyes can meet, which also includes the bedrooms. The structure features a beautiful two storey traditional house with wood carved pillars. Interior of the room is finished with a hint of indo-traditional furniture. These features of the room helped me take a nice cozy sleep so that I could have energy to explore the resort the next day.
The first thing we did the next day which is 6th of June after waking up was we got dressed ate breakfast, not to mention was very delicious, after the breakfast we dove into the pool again. We took some pictures in the pool, clicked some videos, enjoyed the swimming time, then after we got ready for Yuto's birthday and also resort exploration.
Thanks to the amazing team of Tayo for the delicious and cute birthday cake they made to celebrate the day. Now talking about the resort, itself, entrance of Tayo features a huge gate with Buddha eye following with the Phalcha Galli. Unlike the huge lobby we see at many hotels and resorts, guests will see this iconic galli. Staying by the tradition, and cultural architecture Tayo represents the alleyway tiled with chinka appa through out the houses what is known as phalcha. Following the alleyway, we see Annapurna Kalash placed right on the pathway that leads to the restaurant at Tayo. The Annapurna Kalash is a life-size replica of the kalash at Asvalu Ajima temple in Ason. The Kalash is a representation of the Goddess or anna or food which is a reminder that "those who are faithful to her shall never go hungry".
At the right side of the Annapurna Kalash, we can see a Chautara. The glory of Newa heritage and culture shines a slice of simplicity from the village of Nagarkot. Chautara is a resting place built usually under a sacred fig tree along the village trails. Tayo gives a modern touch to the Chautara placing it at the centre of the sprawling resort as an artistic representation made up of cast iron and decorated in shimmering lights.
Waking few more steps from the Chautara and Annapurna Kalash we can see a beautiful viewing deck or patio built with the capacity to accommodate 50 pax at a time where guests can enjoy fresh air and the view of the Himalayan range in the north. I can surely say that there is no better place to lounge at with a warm cup of coffee or drink of our choice.
Following the patio, we enter the restaurant that features a historic aakhi jhyal also known as Gajhya: The Projecting Window. Its is a Newari architecture which flaunts an amazingly carved wooden window that can be seen in private residences, temples and palaces across Kathmandu valley. At Tayo the hand-crafted window gives a magnificent look to the restaurant and works as a magical centerpiece of the dining area.
