Had to smile when he mentioned the guy doing a wheelie with a leg injury. Last run of the day about 6 years ago I messed up the entry step down in to pork belly and dislocated 4 ribs. Mates untangled me from the bike, rode it back the the van and drove 3 hours home. Never even considered needing any medical assistance. Many years before that I got high sided off my MX bike ata practice track and split my collar bone from end to end. It was first laps of the day and didnt have the heart to ruin my mates day by heading off to hospital so just sat in the van while he got his moneys worth. He was a non driver so I drove the 1.5 hour drive home while he changed gears.

@@TheRideCompanion come to think of it Ive had quite few crash incidents over the years where ive made my own way to hospital. The 2 I mentioned, plus broken wrists on 3 occasions, separated shoulder, knee cap split, and a punctured stomach from landing on a bar end. Only had road/track side treatment and an ambulance ride to hospital twice and they were only because I was out cold. Those were 2 of the incident where I broke a wrist too.

Their first responders are epic, so much knowledge between them. The amount of care is so much further than most trails can give

Was at BPW only last weekend and had a little off and gashed my little finger quite badly. The first responder guys were amazing made me feel more chilled and patched me up and off to the hospital for a couple of stitches. so thanks guys didn't want to meet them but I have now 🙂. keep up the great work !!!!

absolutely brilliant stuff! Only thing I picked up on is the number to call on the tag you get to put on your bike that was mentioned. That's never been said to me when i checked in, probably on the ND, glad I watched!

The first responders do an amazing job. Treated a friend of mine a few weeks ago with a neck injury. Unfortunately turns out he had broken his neck 😢 Has now had Surgery and is keen to get back to BPW as soon as he's able. Awesome video guys. Good to see you putting these boys in the spotlight.

Having passed my LVL 3 Outdoor first aid I recognise some of the kit. I am part of a Kids mtb club down here in Somerset ( Exmoor). WE carry a bit of kit but nothing like the BPW crew. 1st Aid/Response can be stressful but there are so many simple things you can do to help the situation. BPW is a damned fine place and the whole effort that goes into it is marvellous. What a crew. Cheers Olly and Davi.

This is fascinating. I was obviously aware there would be some sort of medical help but this is next level. I'm loving these bike park vids TRC.

Well good, very interesting video. A good word to sum it up is ‘reassuring’ Me and friends are going for the first time this June and i definitely feel reassured after watching this.

Really interesting to compare what they have to what we use as first responders on a mine site. Pretty much all the same gear, we just don’t have to use it as frequently

Respect to the first responders. Not sure I could do the job. I had to help a lad off the trails at Antur Stiniog once. Someone had fashioned a sling for his arm, using his hoody. He was complaining it was 'pinching' so I tried to adjust it for him and realised it was a compound fracture. Didn't want to panic him so I just just, "I've done my best, but I think it's normal for it to pinch a bit".

We're down for the Women's social on Saturday and knowing that back up is there gives a little bit more confidence to try some tougher lines.

Got to ride in that ATV in November...d'oh!!! Last run of the day, mega boosted a roller and lights out for me!! Luckily the pack of lads behind stopped and had phones to call medical and they must have been up within a few minutes as they arrived when I was just coming round! Loved the day there, not been on my bike since though!

We do but markerposts and hill knowledge make life a lot easier when your phone signal drops out on half of the hill. And makes it so we can get to you much quicker than relying on what 3 words.
