But, I can tell you as someone who used to work for INS (now ICE), even though we had the case files on all the detainees (awaiting deportation), 9 times out of 10 they all denied the charges against them, or they had some BS excuses. Usually the only ones who were straight about their situations were political refugees (i.e. fleeing war-torn countries), otherwise the VAST majority denied or made BS excuses. So if it's like that with foreign detainees that are not facing prison by the time they get to INS/ICE, imagine the percentage of BS that prisoners use in the joint!
