Hello from Greece! Yes, in the 00s we sent good songs most of the time because we cared and ERT (our national tv channel) had the funds. After the economic crisis ERT had minimal budget and people were fighting to survive. They could not care less about what song Greece sends to Eurovision. Giorgos Alkaios fe in 2010 paid for everything out of his own pocket, even the promotional tour. We are juuuuust starting to get our strength and good mood back so I am sure that we will have a comeback in the 20s. Much love to all Eurovision fans

The 2002 perfomance had problems. The singer and the song were chosen by televoting. Needless to say the vocals were great that night. However on the eurovision stage it all collapsed. The singer had complained that even from the rehearsal there were technical issues(sabotage). Truth or excuses nobody knows. Now it is history!
