Thank you Chris. This was a great summary of your recent trip. I’m hoping 2025 is our year to find a holiday home in Tuscany. Thrilled that you have Lorella available to drive the renovation process. We are hoping to find a location where we are not car dependent. Your videos have helped a lot. Happy New Year!🎉

Hi, Chris! Hope you’ve had a lovely visit with family, and would like to wish you, Pete, and all of your family and friends Felice Anno Nuovo!!! I’m still more interested in the South of Italy, but of course always enjoy and learn from your videos no matter what area you are talking about that day! I definitely am surprised about the values you find in the (overall) expensive Montepulciano area! I’m assuming that the painting of the octopus behind you in this video is one of your creations. It’s truly beautiful!!! LOVE the colors, the sense of motion, and how you depicted the water. I’m so impressed with all of your lovely paintings that you’ve shown us, and am positive you will do well with selling them! BTW, we aren’t so far from each other right now as we are in Northern California, too: near Ft. Bragg on the beautiful Mendocino Coast. 🌊🌊 Saluti, vicina!!!! 👋👋

20 years ago I wouldn't have given a lot of thought to being close to a hospital. Fast forward to now and several health issues later, I realize that being close to a hospital is essential and a required feature to areas I am contemplating moving to. Look forward to more videos in the Tuscany and Umbria regions, Chris!

Hi and thank you for commenting. You are right. We have four the same situation. I was all happy with no attention on health until I fell and broke my ankle. I had to spend a week in the hospital and had surgery. It was a very sobering experience. As we get older it becomes more important and you really don't know you need it until you do. We are quite excited about spending time up north. There is so much to look forward to! Happy New Year!

Nice, Chris. Reasonable prices.Personally, I do think it's a good idea to be close to amenities, for example, shops, train stations, and a hospital. Thanks for sharing 😊

Hi Chris! Happy New Year. I’d like to move to Italy from Canada for a few months a year. I need a small bungalow with land for my dogs. If I’m in Italy for only a few months how does the health care work? I’m a senior so like you the stairs will be a problem eventually.

Hi Maria! The health care is universal for residents. If you are not a resident you will have to pay for health care but it is nowhere near as insanely expensive as in the US or (I assume( Canada. That said, if you are admitted to a hospital for an emergency, the care is free. Normally an appointment with a dr in Calabria is about €50. and antibiotics and other meds are super cheap. Hope this helps!
