I usually find it extremely difficult to play sims 4 for a month straight without feeling bored or frustrated, and making the mistake of watching rant videos only makes the feeling even worse as it reminds me of how the game is not at its best. However, sitting here and listening to you explain your sim's backstories is actually so inspiring that it managed to bring me out of my agonized stupor, so thank you for that. 🥺 Seeing Shin and Maya try so hard for Mayumi makes me want to finally focus and play until my sim manages to find the love of their life and start a family together.

i understand why they wanted to pass all that down to shin but they went the wrong way about it. it’s clear that they werent ready for a child or what it even meant to have a child. they just saw him as a reason to keep their legacy alive, not as his own person who could have possibly went down his own path. even loving your child well could have made him happy to accept their wishes and obey his parents. doing it by force will never goes well. i’m glad he has a good family to call his own

also the fact that maya was taken away from her, when she was still a developing child, and was put in an isolating orphanage where everything seemed dystopian definitely, somewhat, stunted some parts of her cognitive development. so since the orphanage itself is already isolating, as well as she was clearly struggling to adapt, is why she kept that same mindset even when she went to middle school and high school & was free from that white orphanage it’s how trauma works, even when youre free from something, it’s the only thing one knows. her mind wasn’t free at all. but i think shin managed to help her cope somewhat. poor babies
