I hate The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, I hate The Suite Life on Deck, and I hate The Suite Life Movie (2011 TV film).
@zoeg53047 ай бұрын
I think a big difference between London’s friendships with Maddie and Bailey is that the power dynamic was a lot more apparent between Maddie and London than Bailey and London. London saw Maddie as more of an employee at first, and also her being forced to live with Bailey meant that London and Bailey had a lot more similar day-to-day lives even outside of school. Also on On Deck the twins and London are on similar maturity levels so it gives London more than mainly just Bailey to bounce off of instead of having nearly all of her plots paired with Maddie

I totally agree with you! Putting London in a different setting where she's placed on the same level as the rest of the characters (like being roommates and taking the same classes in school), means that she definitely treats Zack, Cody, and Bailey a lot differently. Very smart of you to point out, I didn't think of it like that!
@SarahWolkowitzАй бұрын
Finally someone agrees with me the On Deck is better than the original. I just like the maturing of the kids. This felt more mature in my brain. Whereas, the original felt like kids getting into random antics. I also love Bailey for no apparent reason.

Great video! I loved your thoughts and I've gained more appreciation for Zack and why he acts the way he does. It's sad that he feels like a supporting character sometimes in the later episodes. Also I'm sad at the decline of his wardrobe. He went from bright colourful patterned shirts to boring plaid ones. His fashion style in the suite life was tacky and in your face but that was Zack. I know Cody has his jerkass moments in this series but he’s still my favourite from the show. I don't know how to explain why but as someone who's autistic and has got ocd, I found some things about him relatable, such as his lack of social cues (which was also a thing in the suite life ) even if he was portrayed as ‘weird’ and as a joke. The play thing was awful but I find it funny just because of that awful wig they gave Cole. 😭 Honestly Cody’s at his best when he’s being his nerdy, oblivious self and is passionate about his interests. I know it seems weird to say considering that they are the leads but the Sprouse twins comedy timing is underrated. Even if the lines weren’t that funny I’d still smile just from their delivery. My favourite episodes from this series and suite life are ones where the twins are bouncing off each other, whether they were working together or against each other. The brothers dynamic was always my favourite so I was sad to see it underutilised in Deck. It's normal for twins to go their separate ways as they grow up but it's never brought up how they seemed to drift apart. I like Bailey but I wish there was more to her. Bailey and Cody were a bit too similar, which led to some good moments but made her seem like an extension of him, rather than her own character. Maybe they should have leaned in more into that farm girl thing or given her another unique trait.

thank you for watching! and I agree, the outfits are their own thing that could be analyzed completely! cody is such an interesting character honestly, all of his negative traits are definitely on purpose from the writers and his awkwardness gets more intense as the show goes on, which might imply something more about his character, who knows! its cool to see all the characters grow over time, that's for sure.

Hey I'm also autistic and feel a bit of connection with Cody! Just glad that someone else feels the same way too, because I thought I was the only one, and sometimes it feels bad to connect with, as others put it, "an annoying incel loser".

It almost seems like London's flanderization is a bit like Cat from Victorious, both getting dumber as the seasons go on.

yeah it's definitely comparable! i think it's a situation where they had an idea for the character but over time simplified their traits for easier quick jokes to tell. it happens a lot in sitcoms honestly! that'd be an interesting thing look into one day

I feel like rewriting aside, Cody should have ended up with someone like Maya while Zach should have ended up with Bailey. Dylan clearly has more chemistry with Debby and her intelligence and sensitiveness resonates more with his street smart personality

Amazing how different retrospectives of this show you get. I came here after watching Keyan's video of his retrospective on the suite life on deck. The whole video was pretty much the opposite of yours for the most part on how the original is better than On Deck. Particularly in later seasons.

I just finished watching Keyan's video as well! We have very different opinions on the show I agree, and I love that the beauty of KZbin is that everyone can share their different opinions on the same topic and have a discussion! I liked hearing his opinion, even if I didn't completely agree with him. Thanks for watching!

you know something i hear people critique is that carey or maddie should of been in on deck but im going to have to politely disagree to me it doesn't make sense for carey to be here to me this show is about the twins being more independent and i just think having carey here would be weird and with maddie she didn't come back cause ashley schedule go busy and to be honest she kind of easy to let go of for me because her appearences in suite life of zack and cody were getting sparse anyways

and also i wonder was the orginal suite life too predictable i felt like they were too many grounding episodes in the show and that makes it preditcable does that bother you or no
@comicbookddr9 ай бұрын
I would say the original show did start to feel a bit claustrophobic over time for me, which does partly contribute to its shortcomings. Since every episode takes place inside the Tipton, there really are a limited number of ways any episode can go. Also I feel like they didn't write zack and cody as interesting as they did in on deck, but that can be for many reasons outside of their control. It's also been some time since I watched the original show, so I could remember some parts wrong, lol. But yeah I do feel like the show got predictable after a certain point and it needed some freshening up

@roiybenkel6823 ай бұрын
@@comicbookddr Mostly the objection to shipping Zack or Marcus with Maddie or London... If anything, Zack and London wouldn't work because of their personalities, not because of their ages. When London's clone hits on Zack it's alarming not because of their ages but because the real London would never do that, lol.
