Just wanted to leave a final comment here. Such a tightly integrated case. I really love the functions built in, the span of playability and live creation that this offers. I feel like the module sizes too are perfect! Zero wasted space and no tiny cramped modules either. Nice placements of modules too!

@@whichjuan yes I did. It’s good. I have a pretty large system though so I don’t mind dedicating the hp to a module like this. If I was working with a smaller system like 104hp 6u or something, I’m not sure it would earn its place. Good but not awe inspiring. I would give it a solid 7.5/10.

Woah! Well done @modularplug that Detroit Pink 87 looks incredible! Warbasse! I love the Detroit trigger module with Vice Verga. Instant playability and no fussing! Fits super well with how you like your sequences too. Well done! I bet it feels so much more freeing than the drum sequencer!

I was thinking about trying my hand at a patch like this in my rack and it occurs to me that the Lúbadh might be a better option for you vs the Morphagene given the way you're using it. You can get it to do the arm-then-record thing and either link the two sides or operate them independently. Also has some optional tape saturation emulation you might enjoy. The features are all pretty malleable with the text file thing it loads via USB on the back. I believe it's the same size (without the expander) as well. Anyway, I love your stuff! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks! So inspiring to hear your thoughts behind the one million choices you get when you design a eurorack setup. Previously I had only seen your L-R 100 grit setup, which made me realize I could get halfway there using my single 100 grit in the side-channel of my lrmsmslr. Felt pretty smug about not having to buy another one. Now I see the benefits of also running one in the mid channel :/ Regarding morphagene: not familiar with that module, but it looks like there's an attenuated cv-input. Would it help to patch that up, so you have a bit of a wider sweet spot? It looks like you have a channel of duatt available for this. Might as well take the offending knob off so it's less likely you bump into it.

I love these videos of yours. I had the same problem with my Erica Synths joystick. By the way, replacing that varispeed knob on the morphagene for a bigger knob really helps hitting the green spot.

On the morphagene, if you truly only ever want to varispeed forward, set the vsop=2 in the options.txt. The green zone is much easier to hit. Also consider pulling the knob off so you don’t budge it. Also, rsop=1 flips the record splice combo from rec+splice to record a new splice to just rec. then it is rec+splice to overdub. I also set the pmod to 2 (trigger loop) and used an 8-bar reset signal to keep my loop synchronized because I felt it would drift. It can also be fun to varispeed and use faster divisions to trigger the fast or slow sample on the beat.

I use a master filter and a master compressor…. Do you think Wyvern might be able to fill both roles? Certainly sounded like some beautiful limiting/saturation going on! Do you think you could replace librae legio with it (if you weren’t using it for high resonance fun)?

Thanks for the awesome rundown! I use a pair of W/ modules for the same purpose you use Morphagene. They are a lot more consistent and allow you to configure which parameters get CV control. They have a lot of modes but I just set mine up and don't think about the other options. Plus they're 2HP each.
@thismeanswarbasse
@thismeanswarbasse Ай бұрын
@@jonstapleton3668 haven’t even seen W/ before. Seems interesting for sure. Do you have a favorite module you’re using as a macro controller for them? Or is that not necessary?
@jonstapleton3668
@jonstapleton3668 Ай бұрын
@@thismeanswarbasse you definitely need something to send triggers to it, especially if you're trying to use them as a stereo voice. I've set them up to reset on a trigger, and I use clock dividers to get the loop length I'm looking for. Then I can manually trigger record/play to do sound-on-sound looping. I've also used modules like Pressure Points to "play" the loop/trigger/reset which is really fun. I've used Teletype and Crow to "script" the loop controls, but that's not really your thing and it's not at all necessary here as far as I can tell. They are really simple loopers, but have a lot of extensibility so I think you can probably control it in a way that works for you with the stuff already in your case (or with a module that's useful beyond this narrow purpose).

Couldn’t you rotate the Morphagene varispeed full clockwise or counterclockwise and send exact constant voltage to the cv input (from Zadar maybe) to keep it steady on “green”? And even pull the knob out altogether not to accidentally touch it.

Oh hey, you did end up using the morphagene as a looper. I also went through that Odyssey with the green zone, and different ways of triggering record, lots of fiddling with the internal settings to make it work the way I needed it too. And then I just got a Hermod+, so I save my sequences.

@thismeanswarbasse
@thismeanswarbasse Ай бұрын
@@bastiaanvanhoorn6306 definitely is. It takes quite a bit of fiddling with the tiny volume and gain trim pots on the right to get it where you want it, but it’s still there for sure. I just make a category of music that I don’t think is impacted that much by it, given all the other noise going on
