Terry Sejnowski uses "hand-waving" to describe language processing in brains. @15:00 he shows a model of motor function (right side) - in which the low level signals passing through the network to move a muscle are very similar to high-level "information" flowing thence. Then he equates the same right side image to language/speech processing, implying that low-level axonal signals somehow carry much higher-level "context" & "meaning" of language. He equates relatively simpler motor circuitry to vastly more complex language pathways. This is not only speculation, but it ignores evidence.

Will AI help humans create a world that is too complex for humans to manage ? A security idea may be to always have the 'best' people in a field to join in a competitive stipend requiring them to engage in yearly competitions to keep human skills honed. To have the best jostling for the prestige of top spots So that the system can be run in an emergency without AI.

This is a one-sided view of the "power" of today's tuned AI models, ignoring biased/partly trained accuracy/utility. Uri Manor's "eternal triangle of compromise" also limits all AI, inherently. AI can find useful patterns, but only after it's taught what are the "useful" patterns & which artifacts to exclude. Often, an AI model's outputs include unwanted artifacts ("patterns" falsely detected from noise/interference in the input-space) that remained undelineated during training.
