I don't understand how your videos have such low views. These are incredible. I use syntheyes in every live action footage VFX that is on my channel. I learned a lot of new things from your videos. In fact I created my own syntheyes tutorial and it was just a basic one, sometime ago now. Anyways, thank you.

I'm the dumbest KZbinr out there! I've chosen a tiny niche (film VFX) of an even smaller niche (3D tracking with SynthEyes) as my audience, but I love you guys.

You have a very entertaining and informative way of teaching in your videos. Your channel is incredibly underrated! Please create more content! I'm asking out of pure, unadulterated selfishness so I can learn as much as possible from you! Hahaha Thanks again for these videos!

Thanks Ryan! Withe the recent acquisition of SynthEyes by Boris FX, you can find new videos from me there, with more to come. kzbin.info/www/bejne/f3qpYnuql9SaldEsi=LHvGrjb2qjT83rrM

I'm back, and I just watched the first two, and the supervised, to refresh my skills and pick up what I missed, as soon I'm doing the fx for a film and I want to be overprepared. thanks!!!!@

Wow these videos are like a comforting hand to hold thru the crazy jungle that is the Syntheyes interface. Thanks so much. Can't wait for the next one - and hoping to get to object tracking eventually.

These are the best Syntheyes tutorials out there. What's so helpful is that they're not merely academic, but instead are based on real-world experience. Thanks a ton for putting these together. In terms of what I'd like to see, I'd like to see how to deal with fisheye footage. Cropped or partially cropped source footage from an 8mm lens. Thanks again!

Great tutorial as always. Looking forward to the next tutorial. Glad to see all the new uploads. These have so much great information - keep up the great work, it’s obvious you put a lot of effort into these.

This series is great, thanks! I appreciate you taking the time to work through, extensively, this demo showing why it WON"T work. It is also helpful to know the inverse of what works/how to do it, even when as you have shown, you throw all known methods at it. BTW, I recently started being a 'chef'- ok, I"m doing pancakes, grilled cheese, nothing fancy, but I'm on my way! Some things I'd like to know about is what are some different use cases for GeoH tracking, and Phases (for example)? There's like so many cool features and more added and I just don't always see what they do for us, or why use them. thank you!

These are really, really awesome tutorials. Was trying to learn syntheyes before and I noticed, aside from proving the high level of quality information you also manage to make it look like fun :) Thanks very much! Looking forward to the rest of your channel

These deep dives are awesome! Look forward to more of them. Love to see more hard shots, how you approach hard to track rigid objects and such. Thanks for doing these!

Sir thanks a lot for these tuts, very helpful. Question is, is auto track the way you’re doing it better than supervise tracking? And what can I do to improve my tracking. I want to export to my 3D app the most accurate track, and last not least, Is telling syntheyes the camera info. (Sensor size, focal length) must I do this in order to get a better track ?
@MatthewMerkovich5 жыл бұрын
The first shot in this series, the 10,000 Buddhas Monastery, lends itself to auto-tracking very well. The shot featured in this third video was chosen because I wanted to give a great example of a shot that would fail with auto-tracking. What can you do to improve your tracking? I guess you could just keep watching these videos. Supervised tracking is next! I'll be getting into camera info then. By the way, force feeding lens focal lengths from on-set camera reports is ALWAYS a bad idea. ;-)

I usually convert the EXRs I get to JPGs. Should I be using the EXRs?
@MatthewMerkovich2 жыл бұрын
You can definitely use JPEGs. We use ProRes 422 Quicktime movies because they are 10 bit and the compression is better. And the new SynthEyes can both read and write ProRes even on Windows (if that’s your thing). However, we also switch back to the EXRs for delivery as a QC step to make sure nothing has changed with the images.
