The CIA helped the tibetan freedom fighters in the 1950s and 1960s but indian support was half hearted because of fearing chinese retaliation. After the cuban missile crisis and break of Russia-china relations in 1960, US wanted china as an ally against Russia. Hence all CIA activities stopped beginning from 1970s till now. Its happy to see US had reactivated and renewed strong relationship with exile tibetans
