Azelaic Acid is the best ingredient i have found for Redness and Rosaecea. I use Cureology, i love that company. I use Retinal and Azelaic Acid. I can't find proper cleanser who doesn't dry my skin out, so I always use toner after cleansing my skin. Unfortunatelly La roche possay, Bioderma etc. doesn't provide it, so it's hard for me to use them. Sometimes I use micellar water instead, but it's still micellar water and I would be happy if they provide toner.

In my teens my parents and family members said skincare was a thing for women and knowing what I know that skincare is for everyone and I don’t care what my family think my skin has improved dramatically. I don’t have a massive budget so I have a low budget skincare routine as I found products that work for me without breaking the bank. Also love your self and do what makes you happy.

Finally someone who is saying you can use retinoids on rosacea. You always hear that you shouldn't use retinol or retinoids when you have rosacea. But I have been using a 1 % retinol daily for a year and my skin has never been better, even my rosacea got better. Please don't be scared to try it. It might not be working for your rosacea, but it might as well do, you never know until you try. My tip: Use a retinol that is formulated with a calming ingredient. Licorice root extract works wonders for me (included in high concentration retinol products from Paula's Choice).

@@gabye. Oo boy introducing retinol slowly means at the VERY most once a week! For like a month or more and then you up it to twice a week. @@ZosiaDabrowski Yes. Once a week until your skin adapts and then you can shift to doing it two or three times a week or every other day. Mixing it in with a soothing cream or diluting it by putting it over your cream also can help in the adapting stage.

I have rosacea. I suggest using Avene retrinal cream with retinaldehyde. They just came with brand new Retrinal cream for the face that has bakuchiol, which works similarly to retinol. It helps with my wrinkles and texture. It also replenishes lipids, so my skin is super soft and healthy. No breakouts. It doesn't lead to rosacea flares.

Nothing wrong with using an eye cream, but it is not needed. If you enjoy it then great but just know it not necessary. It would be better to get an eye cream that has some potent ingredients (like a peptide or caffeine eye cream) instead of an eye cream with the same ingredients as a moisturizer because then its just a waste of money. I would recommend the Naturium peptide eye cream because it has some really good ingredients.

I have had roscesa pretty much all my life. However, once I reached menopause, on my word! It is a struggle, let me tell you. I don't have the redness as much, but my eyes are very irritated now. I have terrible breakouts, and very dry skin. Everything pretty much irritates my skin. Foods, anything I put on my skin especially my eyes. I have to be extremily careful now with everything. Even getting upset about something will cause a huge flareup. So, I feel like I have to be in a bubble with no drama what so ever. Great time to need that, Uh? I have to just let drama roll off me. I have hot flashes which is not good for someone with roscesa and I really don't want to take hrt. Have been looking for natural ways to ease menopause hot flashes. A fan is my best friend now... Think I will look for an aloe gel, mint gel or both to add to my skin. May make my own because like I said, I have to be very careful. Also, try to just eat cooling foods. Just need some relief.

@randiacoronacion6797
@randiacoronacion6797 3 жыл бұрын
Start low dosage Tretinoin .025% alternate every other night, or two nights. Until u built your skin tolerance. Your skin will be itchy at first, it means the Retin A is working, it's helping build collagen and stimulate blood vessels. And then help skin exfoliate. Been on Tretinoin .025% for over a year, I have Rosacea and Peri oral dermititis. I'm hesitant to increase dosage to .05% Retin A fear of exacerbating Rosacea. So far with Soolantra prescription cream and Metronidazole .075% gel. The redness of Rosacea is controlled and the pimple like bumps on the side of my mouth and cheeks are controlled. Rosacea is a life time condition, we need a routine to keep it bay. Sad to say it's genetic.

Hi Dr. Sam Ellis, I am new to your channel, and I got very excited to find you. I too have a LOT of sun damage from younger years. I also have rosacea (bad) and while your double cleanse seems to work fo you, if I were to rub my face, it would be beet red for weeks. I have been seeing a dermatologist for over the past two years and we have come to the end of what he can do (because everything else is considered cosmetic). He referred me to a place to get laser treatment. I have only had two treatments so far (and immediately afterward, my face looks GREAT) but unfortunately it is not helping (yet). My dermatologist is thinking I am going to need something more (I am not sure what that means, but I am up for ANYTHING that will help. Thank you for your videos.

I really didn't know the difference between Tretinoin and Retinol (I thought they were essentially the same thing), so I gather that retinol is a bit less aggressive, I appreciate you clearing that up

Yes! Retinol is way less intense but doesn’t have as many studies as tretinoin.

Retinol is so weak that it’s a waste of time. Use retinoids

Thank you! My skin is a twin to yrs. The laser to target reds has helped. I use the Azelaic Acid in the morning too. But not 100% sure it’s helping with the redness. Love the simple routine!

I bought the Aveeno oat cleanser and it's amazing. I did order Clinique's take the day off cleansing balm and the ordinary azelaic acid.

I discovered your videos today and can't stop watching them! I find you to be knowledgeable and you inspire confidence. I would like know if you are familiar with the Bare Minerals Pure Plush skin cleansing foam, and if so, what you think of it.

Dr. Ellis, your skin looks great! BTW I'm also a rosacea sufferer (except my case is very bad, with an extremely sensitive, fragile skin - due to a long-term corticosteroid treatment) and I love the Toleriane Ultra, it's been my go-to moisturizer for years. I would recommend it to anyone who deals with sensitive, intolerant, irritated skin.
