We decorated the first week in November this year. We keep it up till the week of Christmas and then take it down. That's our Christmas now that the kids are grown and out on their own with their families. The trees and lights just make us so joyful and peaceful this season in our lives. We used to think it was crazy people decorated in November. Now we are one of "those" people who decorate early LOL! Enjoy your lake house and family!

I’m making a Plant Room; was a small breakfast room , next to kitchen, separated by a high counter/bar. It has lots of light with sliding glass doors that go to an Atrium, an enclosed outdoor area, roof area open with cedar slats-so plants will continue out there! So love hearing about your plants! I’m in Houston TX zone 9-grew up in Kansas City, MO, on 40 acres. Enjoy gardening so much- retired!

We have always waited until after Thanksgiving to decorate for Christmas. Thanksgiving was my husband’s favorite holiday so that’s what we concentrated on. Sadly, I doubt I will be decorating at all except I may put out this sparkly church with a rotating Christmas tree that was his favorite. Your home is looking lovely. I love the skinny tree! And the garland on the mantle. Honestly I think it’s a matter of personal choice. “You do what works for you” is my motto! Thanks for sharing. Happy hunting to Ed and his buddies!😊

I too like to keep my house quiet when I get up REALLY early in the morning. I love your skinny Christmas tree! It looks beautiful! My opinion is go ahead & set up your Christmas stuff & go through as you go, then at the end of the holidays when you take down your decorations you will have a place for all, hopefully. 😉 What a wonderful day of sharing.
