Everything here is understated of quality. Battle tested in every situation. Hot, cold, wet.. whatever the weather, you can be impervious. In a crash, it is track approved for most Trackdays, and is repairable but should use leathers, One feature missed was the reflectors. When at night, you are an equal force on the road with the cars and trucks. Also,say you crash and are knocked out on a dark/ rainy road, or over a guardrail, others will see (find) you easy. Serious equipment for real riders. Disclosure: I ride Darien, R3 suit, and a Roadcrafter suit of 30 years.

Honest evaluation of a quality garment. I have a standard black and a light high viz, and when the tan material gets in stock I will order a light tan. Dry in the wet, cool in the heat using proper hot weather riding techniques discussed in other videos, tough as nails when ridden hard, great wind blocking ability in the cold with liners beneath. Adjusts nicely, pockets well placed and hold a ton of stuff. I put the optional slimmer armor for better fit and taking on and off. At one time I have had all models of Aerostich outer jackets and this model is the most versatile for all situations imo.

I've had three of these Darin jackets. My first one was back in 1996, I believe, in Blue. The other two were the High Viz Yellow as in your video. They were great jackets. I worn them from central Illinois to Mexico to Alaska and points in-between. Desert heat to mountain cold. Great product. Keep up the great work!

I have had 2 of these jackets, both looking just like the video. Except mine are old enough that I don’t have all of the features Andy talked about. I only got a second jacket after the first HiViz faded and I wanted it bright! I have a lot of miles on my jacket in every kind of weather. They have been Fantastic! Cooler in the heat and warmer and dry in the cold and wet. I always feel protected from weather and traffic and I have to admit to making very full use of the pockets. Amazing what I can carry. If I am on my bike, I am in my Darien. It works everywhere. Keep it going Andy!

You got to love Aerostich! Only Andy would design a jacket with a blazer in mind. I don't ride without my Darien. Please keep up the one of a kind ideas and manufacture.

I have sworn by my Darien jackets (3) since the mid 1990 - they are my goto - the airhead uniform. I have ridden in blizzards in the teens and Nevada summer desert crossing of 125. I have gone down in commuter traffic on the SF Bay Bridge at 70, this suit saved me and moreover still got to work on time. As a side comment on that the closely following fast traffic could easily see me rolling down the road in this bright suitcase - saving me from the big squoosh. I have been lucky to have gone through one blue one, replaced by insurance and 1 red one that i keep in Europe. The matching Darien pant is the way to go - which i will wear most times. Without these Aerostich kits, I would likely not be riding or touring anymore. I have tried the other Stiches and really like the high Viz Transit suit but it is spendy.... The 500 D yellow one with the advancements is likely my next new one once I retire the red Darien from service. Big thanks to Andy and his wonderful team.

A great product. I've worn mine in 30 - 100 deg weather and been comfortable all the while. It is a stiff jacket (I have 30,000 miles on mine), and can feel bulky when not on the bike, but that feeling goes away when riding. An issue I've had is the magnets sliding out the pockets; to stop that I finally closed each pocket with a couple of stitches through the hook and loop.

I have both the Darien jacket/pants and an older Roadcrafter. Both excellent for their own purposes. The dual sport or adventure bias of the Darien gear is especially apparent when you use the pants. Zippers run up the outside of the leg and allow for good leg-grip on the bike while standing.

I have this jacket and the pockets did not keep my phone or belongings dry. My wallet was soaked, my phone was not able to charge due to moisture and a couple other important items were soaked. I called the company and was told the pockets do not keep stuff dry. I explained this video to the person and said it says it keeps your stuff dry. I’m not sure what good the pockets are in any inclement weather. Imagine a rain coat that doesn’t keep stuff dry.

It should be noted I have 1 Darien jacket 2 Darien pants and a r3 suit. I’m well invested in their company. The pockets do not keep stuff dry though
