A Detailed Tour of the Aerostich AD-1 & Darien Pants

The AD 1 pants saved me from serious injury a few years when I got rear ended and sailed two car lengths ahead of me. Landed on my back, and was able to walk away. Visited Aero HQ in Duluth last year and thanked the seamstress who sews these pants. So...yeah, I'm still wearing them and would buy again.

Love my Darien 2 piece. Those arm vents keep me cool the whole ride. Like the sticker says, “commute fearlessly”

I've had both styles and even though the Darien fits slightly more comfortable I prefer the AD 1 because of the thigh pockets. As an aging and forgetful rider I put my wallet in the cargo pocket and my cell phone in the zipper pocket. That way when I am riding I can get some reassurance as I ride, by tapping either pocket, that I haven't left those two important things at the last gas station or hotel. And when i stop and take off the jacket i still have my wallet and cell with me if I move away from the bike briefly. Both pants are great waterproof and durable products.

WELL DONE! This is what I call "The Big Three" - keep track of your iPhone, wallet, & keys and the rest will take care of itself. I ask myself if I have the Big Three whenever I change locations. If you have the Big Three, any other gear loss can be solved.

Thanks for this video. It is really informative. It will be nice if we can see how can we put the pants on if we are already have the boots on. Many who camping have their boots on with regular short around the campfire. I just got Darian jacket and pants. Looks like nice products but I have to return them. There is no “short” version pants and the jacket is really long for me.

I like my AD-1 pants very much, but I don't know if the top front left and right pockets are supposed to be waterproof. I had experienced that my wallet got wet.
