I considered buying a Mepro for my newest build, went with the Romeo 5, hard to beat the price and reliability, left me more than enough $ to add a Odin and flip up sights. Ranges need to have rent out optics, it's just hard to commit to something you haven't tried or heard enough about. Appreciate the vid Unc, be safe brotha.

That is very true and honestly one of the reasons I did this video. Mepro didn't ask me to do it but I hadn't seen much on it. I figured putting out pros and cons may help somebody out there.

6:49 I would like to note how incredibly silly this example is. You're saying that in a theoretical night vision necessary scenario that if some idiot, with night vision, were to max out their illumination beyond the capacity they could even use it themselves might have a visible signature. Besides that, the Meprolight Tru-Vision is an amazing little red dot for its price. The other benefit of the way it projects the dot is that it plays very well with astigmatism. For a large window, non-holographic sight I like the Romeo8T better because of its multiple reticles, long battery life, and great NV performance, but sadly costs $200 more and is almost 4oz heavier.

There are better classes for sure, especially for people like Freedom, it’s really beginner level for someone like him. He probably would gain more from like move and shoot pistol 1 and 2 and combat carbine/combat pistol

You're spoiled, not me! Im still running a Chinese red dot on my Chinese magnified optic. But I got 2 deer this last year with my PSA PA10 in .308. Chinese optics are the only options I have. Necessity, not choice. But it feeds my family.

EOtech’s emitter is also located on the bottom of the housing and is not at all visible unless you are looking directly down into the bottom of the optic, and under NV the reticle is so dim that it doesn’t come anywhere close to that “halo” effect you mentioned.

@evanacey1414 you could literally see the halo on the front lense and I didn't have it nearly as high as the Mepro. NV is a different game. I was highlighting the fact that the zero signature works. You average patriot doesn't have NV which means they woild have a white light and a cranked up dot to use with the light. It's worst case scenario to face a NV equipped adversary when you're running white light but it could happen

"One hundred concepts". makes HEX lense flash hide covers for the most popular optics , the large window sights are very visible from a long ways away . The HEX cover stops the flashing lense . Same is true for your weapons light flashlight reflector , get a cover for it when not in use.

I use supressors so no not really. Also if we're shooting your visual signature is the least of your problems and you've already failed in a few places if you're in a gunfight in SHTF

first you showed an ancient eotech. Are they created the same? Second, the signature was below when the signature is above with the Meop. What's the dif?

@IndependentArmz there is zero signature from the front on the mepro and yeah that one's old I didn't have one of my newer ones down there. The new ones and UH do a far better job but even under NV there isn't really a signature on the Mepro even when cranked up. There is far less of a signature on eotech newer ones. I'm aware that you wouldn't have it that high under NV. I was looking from the aspect of average patriot doesn't have NV but do run white light which would mean you have it turned up. Granted I wouldn't want to fight a NV equipped enemy if all I have is white light but it could happen

Eotech is far from king of anything the tech is antiquated because they don't have competition are they good yep, are they the best nope is it all personal preference.... yes does it change the fact that literally all optics with the exception of the tru vision to my knowledge have a Forward signature. No it doesn't Mepro did something cool and unique, I for one like seeing advancement even if it's not for everyone
