I love the onion trick......I'm from south Louisiana, and down here after we cut them like that, we soak them in ice water for 30 minutes so that they open up. Then we batter them up and fry them. It's called an Onion Mum.....never thought about finishing them off in the oven. Thanks for sharing. = )
