I suspect that Sun Wukong from God of War will be Atreus, language is not a problem for him, as well as transforming into some creatures from what we have seen so far.

I have a theory that the next GOW game will be set 6+ years or so after the last one. Atreus said that he would go in search for the remaining Giants who have fled to other lands (aka other pantheons). But after all those years, Atreus still hasn't returned, so having done all he could for Midgard and growing worried that something might have happened to his son, Kratos goes to search for him in whatever pantheon the next game takes place in (I'll assume the last place he heard about Atreus' whereabouts). And the whole game will be about finding Atreus whilst fighting/meeting new Gods and companions. My hope is that Sindri will be the main companion, since even though he still feels bitter about what happened to Brok, he still cares about Atreus and doesn't want the same thing happening to him (which will be the whole side plot throughout the game). But that's just my idea of how I wish things to play out. Of course I'll be happy with anything that Sony Santa Monica creates instead.

The plot of one of the highest rated games in the series is about taking some simple ashes to a certain place, what doesn't make sense to me is that Sindri is a companion, he doesn't have the strength of a god to deal with constant battles, and if he were, it would be quite strange, especially if we include gods.

@@martinc8965 I dunno. In the Ragnarok battle Sindri seemed pretty formidable and ready to fight pretty much everyone. Sure he was grieving and motivated by revenge, but his skills as a blacksmith are nothing to be ignored. As Brok liked to remind us, they did create two of the most powerful weapons in the nine realms. I feel like if we had Sindri on our side, he could hold his own no problem. And given the time skip, I imagine he would have improved on his skills even further. Instead of making weapons for us, he makes them for himself now. Plus… I really want Sindri to be part of the family again 😭

@@juliesymonds2440 I also remember that in that battle Sindri, shortly after appearing, was captured by some einherjar and saved by Atreus... Furthermore, he was about to fight Thrud and she, even being a minor goddess, would crush him without problems, come on, it's logical. We know that according to them (although even with that statement we must doubt what they say in Santa Monica) his story is not over, but I doubt that his destiny is to be just another fighter, it is like asking that Mimir have a mechanical body so that I fought on his own, when Mimir never stood out for being a warrior, precisely for that reason he would put himself in even more danger of being killed since he would not always be with Kratos.

My best guess would be that they combine Egypt and Japanese or Chinese mythology at the same time. If the end of Gow: R is focused on hope, redemption then I would think it would Egypt or Chinese/Japanese just for the fact they Kratos is in search for that hope, peace, love again. I feel like those 2 settings would be perfect. Then Athena has got something to do with it all. Her popping up on that boat ride with Kratos wasn't for nothing.

Tyrs spear and shield isn’t from Greece, those are his own weapons. His murals always showed him having a spear in hand but what gets me is if what if the next mythologies are hinted by the order of the weapons he used on us

I doubt we'll see Kratos in Japanese setting anytime soon. There's enough games based in Japan and there's upcoming Ghost of Tsushima 2. For Sony it's best to put Kratos in another setting. Egypt is a good bet, fans would be happy. Personally, I wouldn't mind see Kratos in Greece one more time.

Feel like they're setting up for Kratos to fight the creator of all evil gods so to speak... Athena exists on higher plan of existence yet when she's green she's very mischievous, the mask and rift in GoW Ragnarok which held the secrets to what happens to gods after death was green, Thor wasn't inherently a bad god and by the end of the game you could make the argument Kratos helped redeem him and when he died he explodes in a blue light, in a comic of GoW Athena shows up to Kratos in the same blue hue but instead of being mischievous she lends him aid... Just a theory but I think they're slowly getting around to a final BIG BAD BOSS who is the cause of everything

egyptian mythology would work best due to egyptian and greek mythology intertwining a lot with many gods and monster going to north africa also a whole god was made combining greek and egyptian because the greeks ruled egypt in the ptolemaic dynasty. it would make kratos face greek mythology while intertwining a whole new universe of gods also god of war orignially was set in egypt. the egyptian gods are very complex so would work with atreus or kratos the storyline could be that the egyptian gods fear kratos and atreus knowing he killed all greek gods and kinda caused raganrok in norse maybe they are scared he will end their pantheon of gods but in my opinion egyptian gods are the most powerful. The storyline would be cool if it started with osiris parts being scattered by seth and kratos helping him and them 2 defeating seth with kratos passing the mantle to atreus and him living in egypt while kratos stays in midgard rebuilding it and being their new version of odin. What would be interesting aswell would be the greek gods coming for kratos many gods were still alive like athena dionysus aphrodite artemis and apollo maybe they rebuild greece and plan on ressurecting zeus and to vow revenge on kratos cus technically he was in the wrongs cus the only god that did wrong was zeus and ares but he was so mad he killed any god that stood in his way. So the egyptian storyline could be cool or the greek one and him facing his actual past with atreus fearing his father and maybe betraying him with history repeating itself with the son overthrowing the father god of all gods as he will be of the norse if he rebuilds it with freya.

2018 & Ragnarök were definitely more story oriented compared to the Greek Saga. Don’t get me wrong the character arcs & writing were peak, but I do miss the visceral violence, sense of scale & jaw dropping spectacle. Less cutscenes & more gameplay is my main wish I guess.

The Greek games had their fair share of cinematics, just think that Ghost of Sparta, a game that takes you 4 hours to complete on the highest difficulty, has 30 minutes of just cinematics, a relatively large number compared to how long it takes you to get to the credits, now do the math on the hours of cinematics in Ragnarok, which is a game that in its entirety takes you 50 hours.
