When the game first came out Baird would just seem like a smartass but after the judgment he's a smartass but we now know he's a smart ass with high ranks of experience and it fits his character even when we look back at the first game

Exactly we see why he’s a smartass and the fact that Marcus knows he does have combat experience so he trusts him a lot to make decisions on his own, not to mention Cole can as well being with Baird along the whole way since day one. Honestly all of delta squad got them fucking ranks, makes sense they’re the ones in the frontlines the whole time

I love that Baird really was always the smart guy of the group. He knew the most about the locusts, even the beast locust like the berserker and corpser. He studied them, like one would study animals. They dialed it to 11 when they made him founder and CEO of DB industries and the one who designed all of his army of killer robots and giant anime gundam mech suits lol

I'm months late but The xbox360 edition of the game cutted out a huge amount of chapters from Act 5. The pc version of the game (yes the original Gears 1 had a PC version) had a total of 8 chapters in act 5. The ultimate edition of gears 1 restored those chapters that the xbox360 cutted out.
