I've heard and read many great interviewers stress the importance of waiting a long time for the answer, letting subject fill the space. There are many of instances here where Kirk dives back in with a new question FAR too soon, when it seems obvious that Bill still has much to say. Bill's much older, and being older myself, I appreciate that it can take longer to form and articulate thoughts. I really appreciate Bill's dry wit, and it was great to hear his openness to Ornette when so many were putting him down. Needless to say, I've loved Bill's music since I first heard his writing for Kenton and Maynard, and nothing he's done since has been less than great.
