@@Wallie33. ok, I am sick of this, Multiversus WAS getting constant updates and was in BETA, just because they don’t add characters every FIVE MINUTES doesn’t mean it wasn’t getting constant updates, it takes more to make a fighting game than just “throwing in characters” there’s bugs and glitches to work on, there are licensing agreements for characters they don’t out right own and ALL of this takes something you all seem to have forgotten exists called TIME, so patience is a requirement for things like this

Ever since MultiVersus, a Disney platform fighter is something I’ve been dreaming of. Disney movies, Disney television, Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm, and 20th Century. I know that because it’s Disney, they’d probably keep things family friendly. But I REALLY hope they go the MultiVersus route. Imagine all the characters you said, plus characters from Family Guy, Predator, Indiana Jones, High School Musical, and heck, maybe even Sora. I know he’s already in Smash, but Disney are the ones who own him so they could do it. It would be such a wild roster and I’m all for it. But at the end of the day, I’m a major Star Wars nerd and that would be the biggest selling point for me. I would really hope they do what they did for Disney Infinity and do NOT go light on the Star Wars characters. Give me Rey, Mando, Vader, Obi-Wan, Anakin, Palpatine, Yoda, Ahsoka, Luke, Han, Leia, Maul, Boba, Ezra, Thrawn…I could go on and on.

I think it has to be related to the Discovery-Warner merge, which happened around the time Multiversus was released. Discovery bought Warner and started to cancel and to cut budget to a lot of WB's projects. They even cancelled the release of already finished productions in order to evade having to pay for that. Basically, Discovery just wanted WB's resources for their own projects. That's why I think they started very strong, with 5 fighters in just the beta and the 1st season, but after the merge their budget got heavily reduced.

I do think it's possible since Disney has been releasing console video games lately. We have Dreamlight Valley (Disney's answer to Animal Crossing), Speedstorm (Disney's answer to Mario Kart), and Illusion Island. Some picks I want are Aladdin, Hercules, Tarzan, Kim Possible, Dave, Chiro, Violet, Jake Long, Yin, and Yang. Dave the Barbarian, Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go!, American Dragon: Jake Long, and Yin Yang Yo are underrated shows. They're perfect for a Disney platform fighter.

A really great concept. If Disney is making their own platform fighter akin to Smash Bros; then here's how they can make it a solid rival to the series. 1) Make it a retail game instead of going to the F2P route, as live service games are going into decline. 2) Have unlockable characters be unlocked after fulfilling certain requirements (chances are the 12 other characters are the unlockables). 3) Have extra content for both single player and multiplayer: Arcade/Ladder Mode, Minigames, Survival, Time Attack, Special Match Mode (akin to Event Mode from Smash Melee and Brawl), Story Mode, Special Rules for multiplayer, Gallery, Music Shop, In game shop, Statuette Collection, and that's it. For the characters I want to see (and they could be perfect for DLC): Hercules, Hades, Luke Skywalker, Deadpool, Beast, Simba, Pete, Rapunzel, and Sora (I know the last one is a tall order, but still).

This roster would be AMAZING. My only gripe is that you know Disney would treat Mickey and co like Nintendo does Mario. I could easily see Minnie getting in, maybe with a Daisy Clone? I’d love if they added Oswald too. I’d also love to see a playable Ursula who could be this games version of a zoner too. This kind of concept is so exciting to me either way, though!

Great video! You know what character I'd want? WINNIE THE POOH. It may sound silly at first, which it is, but think about it. Not only is he very marketable, so it would make sense to have him, but he could also be like the Kirby of this game, cute and easy for beginners, and has a lot of annoying moves that little Timmy can spam. I actually have a whole idea of a Winnie the Pooh moveset if he was in a platform fighter but I'm still working on it. But I feel like if they don't want to add Pooh, they'd probably add Tigger instead. Mainly because he's arguably the most skilled and powerful character in the PCU (Pooh Cinematic Universe). I can see him as Falco, simple, fast and strong with the highest jump in the game

I hope we see a game like this made eventually, but I hope it’s not a freemium game like Multiversus and more like a polished Nick all stars or even a full on competitor to Smash. If anyone can do it it’s Disney, but they also could mess it up big time. Also if I could add 3 characters it’d probably be someone from Tron, Wreck it Ralph, and Sora so that way it represents Disney Characters who are affiliated with videogames, but they’re all oddball picks, so they most likely won’t happen.

I appreciate the concessions you made to the roster and the reasoning behind them - Rey over Obi or Luke is extremely likely due to everything you mentioned. The only addition I'd make is one of Aladdin, Jasmine, Jafar, or Genie because any one of them is an extremely heavy hitter and I feel the roster is just a little light on the 90's representation. I genuinely hope that if this game happens it's done with care and takes all the time it needs.

It’s a very good point that Disney made their own Mario Kart and Animal Crossing, so the last thing they could take a crack at is a Platform Fighter, A Disney Smash would be great. Especially since they own so much IPs that it would make for such a large roster and large amount of potential additions for DLC. Also since they actually own most of their stuff unlike WB which has rights issues and has lots of controversies (HBO Velma) with stuff, it may be more consistent Your Roster sounds really fun, an Avatar Rep shocked me and a little bizarre but like you said both movies made a lot of money and I didn’t even know Avatar was owned by Disney before watching this video. If I could choose on of my own I’d probably choose Sora even if he already is in Smash, and to be fair Kingdom Hearts is very successful as well and Sora would bring in more players.

For all of those that don't know or are new to this concept design, it is actually based on an old Disney game that was discontinued a couple years already. It was really fun, with a lot of Disney Fans but sadly ended! It's called @Disney Infinity. Some of the companies that worked on this franchise during those times are Avalanche Studio (Harry Potter Legacy), and Sumo Digital, Ninja Theory Games. It's truly amazing to know that there's going to be a Disney-based platform fighter game soon!!! I'm really excited😃, and hoping 😇that really soon we would have a teaser or a trailer for this. This game should be made for all new and recent new game platforms, including PC (Both Steam and EpicGames)...

I could easily picture Doofenshmirtz getting the Waluigi treatment similar to Smash Bros, and not appearing in a single Disney Fighting platformer and always acting as an assist trophy, plus they are kinda similar lol, it would be such a funny coincidence. I can just envision the Waluigi & Doofenshmirtz fans finding each other online and ranting online together so they can finally see them as a playable character in a fighting platformer lol. Bill Cipher could work as a character, but he may work even better as a boss in the games story mode, his eye gives off those main boss weak point vibes, which would work quite well in terms of a boss.

Few assist trophy ideas for this Disney smash game... Woody: lasso opponents away from fighter that summoned him. Wreck it Ralph: hits ground with his fist, causing opponents other than who summoned him to trip Syndrome (Incredibles): use powers to throw opponents off stage. Baymax: Gives whoever summoned him advanced health. Genie (Aladdin): can do something to everyone with magic, such as flipping screen upside down or making everyone in slow motion. King Tritan (TLM): uses his trident to zap opponents. Gonzo (Muppets): puts whoever is close to him into a cannon and fires him. Star Butterfly: Uses wand to give negative affects to opponents, such as slow motion or health drain.

So glad you decided not to talk about that Disney Domination "leak". I definitely agree that a Disney platform fighter is inevitable. There are some characters I would like to add to the roster you made. Rapunzel is another Disney princess that should make it in, she could use her hair as long-range whip attacks, and her frying pan for short-ranged but powerful attacks. The Genie from Aladdin can have some pretty creative moves. Maybe the Mirrorverse versions of Ariel and Tiana to give them movesets they wouldn't have from their movies. And finally, Oswald and Pete because they're 2 of Disney's most classic characters that don't get a lot of attention, especially in crossover games.

Ngl this launch roster looks excellent. Whenever Disney launches their platform fighter, it has he potential to be a great hit… provided two things. One, they need to nail the art style, put in voice acting or voice clips, and it has to have a minimum of fun and complexity. Second, they need to make it a real purchasable game with dlc and not a live service game. They already have two such games, they’d be spreading themselves thin with a third one, especially at a time when live service games are seeing a decline. I may have seen wrong analytics and sources but I think in the end à live service would hurt them in the long run

I was already thinking about the thought of Disney making a platform fighter even before those leaks came out. It just makes sense. I didn't even think about point you brought up about Disney making games inspired by the best selling Switch games, and that just adds on to the possibility. Problem with this. Disney put one of their characters in Smash, Sora. (They fully own the Kingdom Hearts series) Why would they make a fighting game after they put one of their own in a game they'd try to replicate?

Let's hope this turns out good and hope it won't be RUSHED. Because Nick all star brawl was rushed even though it's a good game, and Multiversus was rushed even though it's a good game. This game should really take time to be done. And the roster should have the MAIN characters of a franchise first BEFORE the side characters (Looking at you Ludosity and Nick). Also they should add a meter that a character can have that will make them unleash a "special move" (ALSO looking at you Ludosity and Nick).

To add more proof that Disney might be cooking up a platform fighter, there was a datamine leak in Multiversus that had Marvel and Naruto related assets, as well as characters titled "Ninja" and "Brute". This was leftover content, and implies that Player First Games pitched the idea to Disney and Shonen Jump and used Hulk and Naruto as test characters, but was turned down by both of them. Now, Shonen Jump is obvious, they probably already have a game planned for their 55th anniversary (whether it's a platform fighter or not is unknown), but Disney turning them down is very interesting. It's possible they already have a platform fighter of their own in development!

Personally, I'm all for The Disney Afternoon Fight Fest, a game that was teased at the end of the 2022 Chip N' Dale: Rescue Rangers Movie. All your favorite characters from the Disney Afternoon era (and Shnookums and Meat) battle it out. I feel that it could also have references to actual video games from the DA era, such as Scrooge using his cane as a pogo stick and a golf club (DuckTales for NES), Baloo using a paddle ball (TaleSpin for Sega Genesis), and Bonkers tossing bombs (Bonkers for SNES).

I'd definitely enjoy it if the game was up to the quality of Ultimate's handling, because I'm not the biggest fan of how Multiversus feels. The roster for Disney would be absolutely ridiculous so it just makes sense, and for as much as I do enjoy WB properties, something like Aladdin, Simba, Woody, etc would generate far more hype than Gizmo, Marvin, etc. and they have way more at their disposal to get that hype even without diving into Marvel, Star Wars, or Kingdom Hearts (which is probably the closest I'd imagine they'd get to third party for years, because of the hundreds they have to choose from beforehand.)

Another duo character what would also make sense would be Chip and Dale. They would probably be a rushdown and would be light weight character. Other characters that would make sense or that has a chance to get in are: Minnie Mouse, Kermit the frog, Captain America, Peter Pan, Captain Hook, and Oswalt (he might have a lower chance to get in basegame but i can see him as the last character in a DLC)

My only hope is that the Platform Fighting Game Community learned its lesson from NASB and Multiversus and don't hype the shit out of this being the be-all Smash Killer and just respect the game for what it is: A Platform Fighting Game that should be enjoyed with friends. Of course, with the PFGC being as toxic as they are, I don't hold out a lot of hope... One problem I see with the roster: I doubt Wolverine would be in the game, due to not being in the MCU. I feel like either they would use another hero from their movies instead (possibly one of the newer heroes like Ms. Marvel or something to promote the modern MCU?), use the spot for another animated movie rep like Aladdin or Simba, or do another cartoon rep like Dipper Pines or Star Butterfly (Bill Cipher could be really cool, but it probably wouldn’t be him.) Also Indiana Jones is another Disney-owned character worth mentioning I think. A character with a whip could be cool in a platform fighter.

I feel if tho at least Minnie needs to be there too, along side Mickey, Donald and Goofy I'd also add Simba and maybe Scar to represent The Lion King (Timon and Pumbaa would be great too, but I could see them becoming DLC) Phineas and Ferb as a duo character could work probably also Kingdom Hearts, and add Sora and Riku since Disney owns them and having some Kingdom Hearts representation would be a pretty good idea (specially if it can somehow cross promote a Kingdom Hearts fighting game if they ever go that route, tho I could see their Disney fighting game end up begin a Kingdom Hearts series game as well, it's probably only a matter of time before we have a Kingdom Hearts fighting and racing game at this point) I can also see them adding Indiana Jones as a fighter and as much as I'd prefer them not to, they'll probably add a character or 2 from their live action remakes anyway, with Jack Sparrow, we would need Davy Jones, Barbossa and maybe even Will and Elizabeth as well

I've been trying to create my own Disney fighting game roster, and narrowing it down to just a small number of characters that I'm satisfied with has been a challenge, but this video has definitely been a source of inspiration. I'm curious to know how specifically you'd work Sulley and Mike as a duo. Would they be like the Ice Climbers, or would you only be able to play as one at a time and swap them interchangeably? I'd also hope to see Dumbo and Simba make it via DLC.

I think if Disney's other licensed games are any indication, the proportion of Acquired characters is simply unrealistic. I don't think any of the characters you added are bad inclusions, but I think a lot of the Star Wars, Marvel and Fox content would be saved for DLC since they'd bring high quantities of hype with them, and that the base roster would focus a lot more on Disney's animated canon. In particular, only Mulan on your roster represents a film from the Disney Renaissance, and only Maleficent represents a film from the Walt era - and those are the two most defining eras for Disney's brand. No Lion King, no Beauty and the Beast, no Aladdin, no Little Mermaid, no Pinocchio, no Alice in Wonderland, no Peter Pan, no Snow White, no Cinderella? I think characters like The Beast, Peter Pan, The Genie, Simba, Ursula, the Cheshire Cat and the Fairy Godmother would all add a lot of diversity to this roster. I also think "all main characters" is sort of disappointing. The only fighters on here who aren't headlining their own media are Neytiri and Perry the Platypus, and everyone else is just the #1 main character. I think a lot of these franchises would be better served with more unique side characters as fighters, such as Elastigirl over Mr. Fantastic and Maui over Moana, and that is the kind of decisionmaking I would want to see. I also would like to quibble with your categorizations, specifically in the case of the first few examples you laid out. Donald Duck as a blaster? And Mickey as a balance? Mickey ought to be a blaster, and frankly also blaster should be called Magician instead to fit the Magic Kingdom theming of the Disney brand (which is what Elsa and Maleficent, half of the Blasters on the roster, already are anyway). He may be the "main guy" but he's also generally considered somewhat elusive, so might not even be base game himself - a lot of spinoffs like Kingdom Hearts will put Mickey into a nonplayable role and let Donald and Goofy represent the IP in a playable form, with Mickey potentially being a DLC sort of addition, especially following the F2P model that almost every Disney game tends to these days. And he's mostly known for doing magic, even in the platformer games you might be tempted to pull from for his moveset, so he'd make less sense as a balanced fighter who has only a few projectiles and mostly hand to hand combat. Donald, on the other hand, screams rushdown to me. He's most well known for his temper tantrums, and his ability to zip around peppering hits in as he rages out is iconic and ought to be what his combat revolves around! I might take issue with some of the others, but those are the main ones I object to.

This would be such an incredible lineup! I agree, you've come up with a super solid roster. And still with so much potential! The Disney Infinity art style would be perfect for it, too. I'm just not sure whether Disney will let all of their characters beat each other up, but I guess Nintendo almost didn't let Smash Bros. happen for that same reason...so who knows? Nick Brawl and Multiversus don't interest me, but I would absolutely love to play as Mr. Incredible, Buzz Lightyear, Perry, or Stitch and more.

I like your list and hope this comes true. My only problem is idk if Disney would approve of a game where their main characters literally beat each other up as the objective of the game. While it would be awesome, I am hesitant to believe anything or get my hopes up because of this. Should Disney release a platform fighter? Yes. Interesting choice/hypothesis of a roster in a possible Disney platform fighting game. My only criticisms are you could've put Woody into the mix 'cuz Buzz without Woody feels off a bit, I don't think McQueen is fighter material, Mike and Sulley should've been separate fighters (if you want a duo fighter, have Timon & Pumbaa), and personally, you could've added another Disney Television character, like Anne Boonchuy from Amphibia, 'cuz FYI, Matt Braly, series creator of Amphibia, seems to know a thing or two about Nintendo, he made not one, not two, but three references to said games. On the other hand though, a Disney platform fighting game could be more or less interesting, if Disney's willing to make it happen.
