You're half right actually! The servers for the games beta did indeed close. The full game is set to release on May 28th though with tons of changes and improvements. There's a relatively large amount of players eager for the games re-release and I hope I can help that community grow and raise awareness/interest for the game by putting out the best content o can!

What makes me appreciate Multiversus as a platfighter has to be the uniqueness of it. Even in this video when trying to find parallels it seems to be more trying to find general gameplay rather than sharing moves; other plat fighters like Rivals of Aether and Nick all star brawl 2 tend to have direct parallels to smash characters through their design and moveset, but in multiversus the kits even when similar are not directly comparable such as how Batman while compared to shiek still has his win unique strengths such as his mobility through the grappling hook and glide and doesn’t struggle to kill thanks to his strong brawling techniques. Can’t wait for the games relaunch and good video.

Yeah I think Multiversus has very unique characters that function completely differently in the engine alone. But, I do think there's inherently going to be a lot of overlap so I wanted to make content that helped introduce players to some characters in a way that might make a little more sense.

IDK why you would hate that? Archetype comparisons are used for every fighting game (and other games outside of fighters too now). Smash being the first and biggest platform fighter means that it's the baseline to which others are compared, making their characters the standard archetypes. Same goes for Street fighter and 2D fighters, they were the first and biggest so they set the archetypes everyone else modified for their games. It 's why we have terms like shoto, grappler, zoner, etc. It all came from comparing them to SF characters and just evolved from there. Ult having so many different characters to fit not only the core base archetypes but also so many sub categories and combinations makes it pretty much the easiest to compare characters with. If you were to use Melee for example the core archetypes might be covered but the comparisons would be less accurate because there just isn't a character for many sub categories and combinations.

Imo finn looks more like hero He has the store thing, which echoes with the spells menu, he strugles to kick oponents from above platforms (hero's up air is hot garbage and while his up tilt is okay, still) I would say the recovery is more like a link thing, for obvious reasons, and his combos are nothing to compare from each other, but the have smiliarities

I main duck hunt in smash and I tried out Multiversus, played during beta, stopped because I didn’t feel connected with any of the characters. I was always a young/toon link main since melee, in melee I play young link and in the others I play toon link, I always finded his technical play style realy cool, while theyre not identical, since multiversus came outh I was a finn main, his airs and grounded sword atacks remind me a lot of toon link, plus his projectile that, while not being even CLOSE to how usefull and powerfull the bomb is, is still a great projectile to use in certain situations. But in the end of the day, I just main toon link cause of Wind Waker and Finn cause of Adventure Time

I think the Reindog/Samus comparison is even more apt because both of those characters do have fairly strong boxing tools as well as zoning tools. Reindog's f-air is literally the same as Samus' f-air, being a giant wall of drag-down hitboxes.

I'd like to promote the idea that Garnet is K Rool. Heavies with decent options and solid recovery tools. Even a projectile some players might live and die by. Also a mechanic that allows both to play that tad bit more aggro (Purple Hands for Gar and Belly Armor for K Rool)
