Very cool Peter! I use to see those piles of timber on the road and wanted to make something and here you are making away 😊

Yes I use them a lot...all our new shelves, I wood grain the library shelves and shellac them. And storage shelves and the partitions and inside walls. A garden shed too, clad with old corrogated iron...

❤ I made one of those using $60 U.S. one dollar bills using origami and a little hot glue. Each bill weighs one gram so five equals a 5 gram pentagram. I found it interesting the shape of the individual bill represents the Compass, Square and Spirit level. Each star takes me 33(1/3) minutes to fold. I stuck a needle in one point of the star then used my foot powered wheel to play a phonograph record at roughly 33(1/3) RPM. you should bevel the edges of the cuts so it joins flush. 36° bevel i think. I know 6 is 30° and 8 is 22.5°. 4 sided Pyramids are 45° bevel.

Fascinating account, thanks for sharing. So the sound came out of the folded and glued shape...was it quite loud? Yes bevelled edges would be nice - though I'm planning to plaster the dodecahedron probably. That will make it waterproof for outdoors. If for indoors I'd go for plywood and bevel the edges...

PS looking forward to seeing how it feels to sit quietly and meditate in a dodecahedron:) And to learn more about that and other Platonic solids.

@@wizardofeutopia in my recent videos it is titled "necessity is the mother of all invention". I always confuse the star tetrahedron and dodecahedron. Like my Hex-O-Pod I'm not sure what to call the shape. I just know I weave a spider that can support my weight from a center point in between the gap of the top of the frame. My "UFO technology" video is the spider🕷 I use in the 🔯 shaped frame. In vortex math I use expressions like "Base 12 Step 7" when done correctly it looks like spokes of a bicycle wheel. 7, 2, 9, 4, 11, 6, 1, 8, 3, 10, 5, 12 is the dance around the clock face using Base 12 Step Seven. If you are after magnets remember the left hand rule and the right hand rule dictates the north and south poles. As above, so below. With a prime Base number like 5 you can Step by 6. With 6 rods you could could fish a line using 5 rods to keep the line held to your 5 perimeter holes. The sixth is your hub the line is weaved around. I know there is debate on the bible term of "Camel" being "Cable". Years ago I had a string theory then someone suggested I read Ezekiel after what they heard me describe. Last year I used a 2 ounce weight hanging from nylon string to fish soft iron wire thru my pipe dream. Older texts uses the word "Knops" with my dyslexia I red "Knobs" knot reel eye zing(not realizing)there was a difference. I subscribed to your channel a while back because of you bending rebar using long pipes. I show people how I use fishing hookS to overload a line for lifting heavy objects. Rebar makes nice hooks if tempered properly. Isaiah 22:22-25 holds the 🗝 of a lot of weight supported by a single nail. Like my Solomon harp titled "Sam Clams Disco" is 24 feet of 2×3 lumber sitting on a wine glass to amplify the vibrations of the six 46 gauge guitar strings. I'm debating on buying 12 more machine heads so I have 18 anchor knobs attached to the center knops. One day I'll drag it to the music store and test Cello bows to see what sound it makes. I know if I rest a glass of water on the center I can lightly strum a string and water will jump out of the over half empty glass. Without a resonator it sounds like a electric guitar with no amplifier. My wife was surprised how loud a 5 gram pentagram (plus needle w8) hanging from a string could be. She could hear it in the next room with the door closed. It took a lot of trail and error to weave the strange webs I weave. So with my dodecahedron I'm trying to map out the path a single thread could travel to interlock all 60 points not crossing paths more than once where 2 points junction 30 times. I used 2.2 grams of hot glue to secure all the points and it took 20 helium balloons from the dollar store to achieve lift off. The shape has many anchor points to maintain level flight. Sorry for being long winded. Look forward to seeing how your project turns out. Just remember 72° wedges make great corner supports that can be screwed together from the outside. 144° ,72° , 144° triangles .😁

That's a lot of ideas, much of which is suggestive of cool things though not clear to me.. your 24 ft guitar sounds amazing... I'll run it by my son @therobba and my friend Charles who stays at dreamspace.. they have a small soundproof room here and a music room... I'll try and make a video of them making some sounds...

Don't know how you did it with free panels, normally takes 12.
